Tylenol

Since I was 14 or 15, I have had problems with my back and my neck. I was put in pain management and put on pain pills. I was on them up until the day I found out that I was pregnant, when I stopped taking them completely and haven't taken them at all for at least a month. I have been taking extra strength tylenol instead and it doesn't really help with the pain, but I take it in hopes that it just might work that one time. My question is, I've had a bottle of 75 for about 2 weeks now and they're almost completely gone. A few have gone to my brother, but I have taken the rest. I don't take more than 5 a day, but I was wondering...could me taking so many for such a long period of time have any negative effects on the baby? I am well aware of what it could do to my body, but my headaches are just unbearable at times and in my opinion, going back to taking the pain killers is out of the question.

Today has been a really sucky day thus far and I really need some reassurance...can I take another tylenol??

I suffer from severe migraines and I am 16 weeks pregnant, I take 2 tylenol 3 (tylenol with codiene) in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, they help, might want to check with your dr as they are a narcotic

I was on vicodin. I'd been on them for nearly 7 years and didn't want to be dependent on them anymore. It was EXTREMELY easy for me to come off them, but I don't want to put myself or my baby in that situation again. Besides, at the beginning when I was weening myself off, taking even 1/4 of a 5mg vicodin made me soooooooo messed up and I HATED the way they made me feel. I'm just gonna have to talk to my OB if she ever calls me back. I've had a headache for 9 days now. I haven't been able to leave the house since it started so I'm going absolutely stir crazy.

I attached the link to Tylenol......Hope this helps. Looks like you can take 8 in a 24 hour period, but not to exceed 10 days without consulting your Dr.

4 grams a day is the maximum safe dose of Tylenol, that would be 2 extra strength pills every 6 hours; if you were to take 2 pills every 4 hours that would equal 6 grams - a toxic dose; tylenol can actually be pretty dangerous if overdosed (especially to the liver)opioids are pretty safe in pregnancy (I'm not sure what pain pills you were taking prior to your pregnancy) - you should definitely talk to your OB about pain management options; hope this helps!

You might read the warning label on the bottle. I do believe it says not to take it longer than two weeks or something like that doesn't it? I don't have my bottle with me at work or I'd check for you. I'll see if I can't find something on Tylenols website....

You really should talk to your OB. Maybe he can prescribe physical therapy...I have neck problems and it has helped me. Just a thought....Feel better.
