Hey everyone. I just got back from my doctors appointment and I was not leaking amnotic fluid but I am finally beginning to dialiate.... I am now 1 cm and when he checked me it hurt really bad. I think he did something because I am now loosing the rest of my mucos plug and having contractions... What could he have done??  Thanks to everyone who answered my previous post.

I am 36 weeks 3 days thats why I thought it was really soon. My contractions are more in my back right now... I will post before I go Thanks

Oh, to answer your last question, stripping the membranes causes a hormonal reaction that puts you into labor. My water never broke on it's own; I always had the doctor break it at the hospital. And once they break your water, your contractions come very strong!

I was 39 weeks 4 days when mine were stripped (with BOTH pregnancies). How far along are you? He may have "accidently" stripped them.

I live in KCMO so I understand about the weather! It's actually nice and cool over here right now, which is nice because I've been cleaning all day and I'm really hot!

Anyway, keep us posted. Make sure you post something, if you are able, before you head to the hospital. I know that it wasn't until the next day that I had my girls, so you may be sleeping at home tonight.

yeah I knew that when he did the check it was not normal but who knows...... I hope he comes soon... When they strip your membranes does it make your water break easier or does it help put you into labor?

It sounds like he stripped the membranes.... It would cause you to hurt that badly and loose your mucas plug.... Sounds like he threw you into labor.... Keep track....

Thanks Joy.... I just think it is a little early for him to be doing that though but maybe he is sick of me... I would love to walk but it is icky here.... I am in the Saint Louis area Saint Charles to be excact and we have gotten so much rain our roads are slightly flooded. When did your doctor strip your membranes?

Squatting lol believe it or not it helps wonders. I walked around for 3 weeks at 3cm dialated because Aidens head wouldn't fall into position, squatting helps open your hips up so baby's head can fall into the birth canal.

I had ended up doing a few squats every half hour with the help of my step mom, and later that day I went into very quick labor, from 3cm to 7cm in 30 minutes lol.

Have something to hold onto if your going to try this, I would hold onto my moms arms put my heels together like with my toes pointing towards the sides and squat. Id hold the position as long as I could and repeat about 5 times every 30 min ontop of lots and lots of walking.

Your cervix needs the babies head to produce pressure and stimulate dialation.

Sex and walking! Keep doing the naughty and hopefully the sperm will help you dilate more. It honestly sounds like he stripped your membranes and that usually means baby will be here within 48 hours. Wouldn't that be exciting?

You guys should go on a walk right now if the weather is nice!!!

yeah I do believe that I did, I keep making my DH have intercourse with me to speed this up.... I know it prolly wont work but it is fun to try... I am so ready to have this baby I will try just about anything..... Any suggestions?

Yay, I just got back from doc appointment too and was told I have now started to dilate. I am going on 2cm!! Last week I wasnt dilated only 50% effaced.

i think it works vice versa, some people dilate before being effaced and some efface before dilating. my sono tomorrow is important since wid my first i had low fluids and also will tell how soon i can go into labor and how low he is. i told the doctor he is very low. hopefully next wednesday nothing has changed. i have til wednesday to get the rest of the baby stuff.

really wow... My doctor didnt say that I was effaced but from what I read you have to be effaced to dialiate..... You better take it easy

am 50% effaced, my cervix is thinin out. am a figer tip  dilated. i knew something was up. the  doctor is prayin he stay til am 37 wks. i have to take it easy. am 34 1/2 wks. she say at least 2 more wks if not he is goin to be a premee. i have an emergency sono  tomorow to see his growth, weight, fluids and other stuff.

So he could have stripped my membranes?  It was very painful so that is what I was thinking..... I was literally in tears... Oh well only time will tell.... Thanks yall
