Urine or amniotic fluid?!

Last night i woke up to the feeling that i was peeing myself. i had just gone to the bathroom an hour or so earlier and didnt feel like i needed to urinate. i got out of bed and was able to make it to the bathroom and 'finished' in the toilet it was clear and my panties have a saltyish smell. Not like ammonia. now everytime i use the bathroom or just wipe (sorry TMI) there is  slimy liquidy clear stuff all over the toilet paper. its not as thick as discharge and doesnt smell. could this be my amniotic fluid? i'm trying to get in touch with my dr's office but the lines are busy, so im looking for any reassurance or input while i wait. thanks

Good luck to you! That can be very scary. With my son I woke up from a nap all wet and apparently had wet myself but ran to the ER per the Dr's orders and it was just pee I guess. It can happen without knowing. I hope everything works out for you, please let us know how things go.

Thanks ladies. i got ahold of my dr's office and they had me put tp in my undies and go by how saturated that got. it leaked through all the layers so i am headed to the hospital for them to do a spectrum exam.

It is important to see if you are ruptured.  Keep any wet and or better put a pad on and put in bag to take with you.  There are test they can do on the fluid.  Best to know within 24 hours of when you noticed.  It is common to wet yourself while pregnant (happens a lot!) but it is good to make sure that is all it is.  Goodluck!

If its slimy than it doesn't sound like your waters to me but rather discharge. At the same tine though better to be safe than sorry. I'd go to l&d and get checked if your Dr office isn't answering.

Oh and i, worried if it is i cant shower. well i have to take a bath because my bf and his dad are redoing the bathroom upstairs and the one downstairs is just a bathtub. so im afraid that if it is my fluid and i take a bath it could cause an infection?
