There is quite a bit of information available in the Urogynecology Forum, take a look at the 2nd post as well as the Kegels and Kegel Breathing Healthpost article.
If you can't find them give me a shout by PM. There are many treatment options available to try, and if a pessary is fitted properly (good idea to see a urogynecologist for proper fitting, there are over 20 types of pessaries and many sized available) it should not even be felt when inside.

I don't know the cost but treatment depends entirely on the extent of the damage. If it's only a mild prolapse something as simple as a few lifestyle changes can help. There is also a thing called a "Vaginal Pessary" which is an insert that helps support the uterus but it can be uncomfortable and needs to be removed and cleaned regularly. The pessary isn't so much a cure as a way of managing uterine prolapse.
I don't know the cost for the treatments but if surgery is the only option then I'd suggest at least getting a consultation with a doctor to talk about what can be done.
