VENT - I hate being sick and not being able to take anything for it!
I have this brutal head cold right now and, TMI, but lots of phlegm as well (yuck). I stayed home from work yesterday and tried to drag myself in to the office today, only to end up coming back home this morning.
Even though I've been pregnant before, I was never sick at all the last time (I attribute that to the fact that I didn't have a very active toddler to chase after - who's bringing germs home from daycare - and I was getting more sleep, being able to sleep in on the weekends, etc.) I went to the drugstore the other day and the pharmacist told me that she wouldn't recommendat I take anything other than regular strength Tylenol, and I can use cough drops and saline nasal spray.
I just can't wait to feel better!!! I can't breathe through my nose and my ribs are sore from coughing. Even though I'm so tempted to take some cold meds, I don't want to do anything to hurt the baby....

I'm 26 weeks and have that lovely head cold your talking about. My youngest brother brought it home, (UGH)
I finally got sick of suffering today (I get these things BAD to where I can't breathe right and I've had no energy all day to care for my son so I got a little help from my sister for a couple hrs so I could nap) my son (13mo) is also very sick.
And took some Tylenol cold/Sinus. I'm only taking a couple doses a day, when I go to bed and when I get up so that I can feel semi normal. I'm not too worried about it because I'm past the first trimester and I'm not taking anything with NSAIDS in it.

Yeah it ***** being pregnant cuz you can't hardly take ANYTHING.
I've been getting WICKED headaches with this pregnancy, and all I can take is tylonal but I'm an ibeprophen kinda gal. Tylonal doesn't do SH*T for me!!!
When I was breastfeeding my daughter, I still could only take tylonal and I'd have to take FIVE of those stupid things to even get SOME relief!!

I know how you feel. I had an upper respiratory infection when I was pregnant. As I got further I got a cold and they said I could take benadryl, but I don't remember how far I was.
