Vaginal Lips Swelling

Im 6 months pregnant, and my vaginal lips are excessively swollen. At first it was a mild irritation/itching which occur 2 days ago, I didnt think anything of it because I thought it was caused by my shaving my pubic area. But now its itchy, burning, and swollen . . . && Im not sure whats the cause of this, im scared and I dont want this to affect my unborn child. I dont know if i should wait til my next prenatal appointment, or call my doctor a.s.a.p !

Oh man yeast infections are no fun. When you want to use pinecones or your hair brush as toilet paper... No fun!!  I'm so glad to hear that it is something easily fixed :) best of wishes on the rest of your pregnancy!

I'd call your dr and ask. I bet it's from shaving. My legs do that when I shave them but surprisingly not my vaginal area. My dr told me it's normal bc your skin is SO sensitive and to take benadryl as needed. I also found relief from ice packs. Feel better!

It could be an irritation. It could be from shaving or just from the cream...even soaps could do it. Everything is a lot more sensitive down there.
Your hormones could be the culprit too...I had the same thing happening and was given cream to treat a yeast infection. It did help...your pH balance is all messed up from the different hormones most likely. But like loosingmymind said...you should see your doc before treating anything.

You need to see your physician BEFORE you try any over the counter treatments.

If its itchy you can try using some yeast cream, it could be that you have a yeast infection. It is safe to use during pregnancy.
Do you have any discharge at all? Call your dr if you are really worried.
