Stretch marks are hereditary. If your gonna get them your gonna get them. However, there are many things you can do to help minimize the appearance.

I have used Bath and Body Works body cream. It's expensive and I go through a tube every 2-3 weeks but it's the only thing I have found that I like. I use it twice a day and I'm 34 weeks and not one stretch mark yet.

I tried cheaper lotions and creams and Palmers gave me a rash all over my WHOLE body.

I recommend palmers cocoa butter with shea nut butter or oil the combination of the 2 (they are both in the same bottle, not two seperate bottles) seem to work pretty good atleast for me.  I went through my first to pregnancy using them atleast 2 or 3 times a day and got no stretchmarks! although it still has a lot to do with heredity (my mom's strechmarks are'nt that bad either) and weight gain (keep it slow and steady and you are less likely to get as many stretchmarks as someone who gains rapidily because you skin as time to adjust more. i did not use it nearly as much and did get strechmarks with my 3rd baby, although still not too bad! Good luck use the lotion, stay hydrated, and gain gradually and hopefully it won't be too bad!

Lotions that boost elasticity will be what you want. I would personally stick with more natural, organic lotions because they don't have additives and harsh chemicals.

Regardless of what you use you may still get stretch marks due to heredity but you can reduce the severity by keeping your skin moisturized and healthy.

I actually like my stretch marks. They are a symbol of one of the most sacred, blessed moments in my life. Moments that were private and all mine. And they have definitely faded, too.

I think the best thing you can do is use anything with Vitamin E...it has many great healing properties, especially for scars...which stretch marks are pretty much a scar from your skin being stretched so much. The best thing to do is tone up your body ASAP after the birth of your baby. The longer your skin is stretched...the more difficult it is to get rid of the marks!!

I used Palmers, another brand that I can't remember the name of but it was expensive and straight vitamin E oil which I mixed into both. I used all 3 of these every single day 3 times a day and still ended up with stretch marks. Good thing about stretch marks is the usually fade after a little while. Mine were pretty bad when I first gave birth and than magically seemed to disappear.

Theres alot of diff opinions on what you just asked.. lol alot of women say you cant prevent stretch marks cuz they are herditary but for me i used creams anyways lol and i have very little stretch marks that you can barely see... i suggest this.  its called Palmers Cocoa Butter formula. Its a massage lotion for stretch marks. it helps prevent and reduce stretch marks. its has vitemin E, Collagen & elastin in it :) I like this stuff

That's what I've heard too :( I've been using Palmer's lotion for stretch marks, hoping that at least my skin won't get super itchy.

Anything that has vitamin E oil and coco butter helps but unfortunately stretch marks are pre-determined. There is no prevention. Creams help to moisturize your skin and help to reduce the appearance of them but if you are going to get them there really isn't anything you can do.
