What Happens....... ?

I have just seen this thing on TV where she was a few days past her due date and her baby inside her swallowed its own poop...
The baby has been taken to a special hospital.... because its breathing caused by swallowing poo...


Why is it bad and what can happen??

Cassandra they will know right away when the baby gets here whether or not this has happened because the fluid becomes meconium stained...They evaluate that when they either break your water or when the baby is delivered. Most of the time this doesnt happen unless past your due date...

Well the baby didnt have to be put on a Machine thing to do everything for her... she had antibiotics... But it realy scared me... Why is it so serious? when I was 2 I ate cat poo once and im fine.... :)
She was breathing and stuff.... but she might of had an infection...

That I believe is called Meconium Aspiration. My big brother actually had that. When my mom was pregnant with him, the doctor went on vacation and forgot about her so when my bro decided it was time to come out he was like 3 weeks late and he had swallowed his own poo, it can be very bad, my brother almost died.When he came out he wasn't breathing, he was blue and was rushed away. Luckily for my brother, there was a pediatrition right in he room who took him away and I am happy to say he is now 28 years old.
