What are Healthy Foods for me?

Hello,

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I can't eat heavy meals like rice on right time... i just want to eat crackers and drink water with ice when i feel hungry. and sometimes i ate fruits... Everytime i ate heavy meals, i feel so dizzy and after that i vomit.

What are the healthy foods aside from rice?

You're allowed 300mg of Caffine a day. I believe this is equal to 2 cups of coffee. Don't feel too guilty if you don't eat your best just yet. I ate next to nothing when I was pregnant (nothing wanted to stay down) and she's amazingly healthy at 2 months. You can speak to your doctor about anti nausea medicines to try and hold more things down. Also try and eat as much protein as you can, such as chicken and whatnot.

I think right now it would be fine to eat anything that stays down, and worry about proper eating when you're feeling a little better. My dietary consultant told me it didn't matter anymore if food isn't staying down, that your body needs SOME nutrition. She said if all I could eat was pound cake and ice cream all day then do it.

Things that helped me were pastas, macaroni and tomatoes, breads, fruits, pretzels (I think this is all carb foods?) and potatoes

Try to avoid things high in salt or too low in salt (both can make nausea and vomiting worse) and fried/greasy foods. Take small bites at a time, and pace yourself. It can also help to not drink anything while you eat. Another thing I was told was eating a banana between meals or when you wake up can help.

I heard its better not to eat heavy large meals during the first trimester if you are struggling wit hit..  Try 6 smalls meals instead through the day.. Or eat what you can take a break nd go back..  I also read that if you are struggling with meats, to cut them into little cubes (and cheese too) and eat 1 cube every 15 minutes for an hour or so...  Peaunut butter or snacking on almonds throughout the day is a nice protein subsitute as well.  Maybe you can put some peanut butter on your saltines...  even small amounts... I think 1 tablespoon of peanut butter is 1 serving of proteins so

Oatmeal is a miracle food.. Its really good for you, add some fresh bananas or raspberries..  Blue berries too..  Spinach is also a good selection.

I think moderation is key.. Try the 6 small meals a day and see if it helps..

Other things to look at is making hearty vegetable bean soups.  Try eating things like navy beans, lentils, etc.

In the first trimester I was told eat what stays down for me that was french fries and toast and gatoraide over ice. Once this pukey dizzy feeling subsides in a few weeks then start eating healthier. Until then eat whatever sounds good and feels good in your tummy. I drank ensure to try and get some more nutrition but I was the same as you with puking and dizzy I had low blood sugar but couldn't eat much bc it made me sick. Hang in there this should get better over the next month and then you will have an apetite making up for lost time ;). CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!

try adding the following to your meals:

oats and whole grains ( try substituting cooked rice with cooked bulger, it tastes good), green veg., lots of fruits, pasta can also help, and don't forget to have enough protines from lean meat and eggs, drink milk as well. whatever works for you, and if you have a doubt about anything, just check with your doctor. i'm sure she/he will be glad to help.

wish you a H&H 9 months.
