What are my Options? What should I do now?

I had a coil fitted by my GP in sept last year after the birth of my first son.  The whole family are very happy and looking forward to his first birthday.  I did a pregnancy test today and discovered that I am infact pregnant.  As you can appreciate this is not planned and we are both very confussed and scarred.  What are our choices and what should we do first?

I can understand why you'd be scared and confused! I've never had, nor heard, of this procedure but I wanted to wish you the best of luck!!! First step would be to call your OBGYN's office and tell them you had a positive pregnancy test. Then tell them you had a coil procedure and are worried about a tubal pregnancy.

i had the  coil procure  called essure  tubal ligation is that what u are meaning? Well my surgery  didnt  keep one the  coils dislodged and i am  now 7 weeks pregnant  with my third child. You just need to  call ur doctor to  make  sure  the pregnacy is in the  right  place and if  so have  happy healthy  pregnancy. Yours like mine  lil bean  was mean  to  be hope  all  goes well let me know  how thing  turn out for u

the coil is meant to keep the egg from getting thru the fallopian tube. Basically they implant it and then tissue growes around and over it blocking the tube.

Bibbsgooders: I think you'll be alright, but you need to call some of the OBGYN's in your area ASAP to be sure it isn't a tubal pregnancy.

Do you mean about having the coil removed?  I don't know what a coil is exactly.  Is that like getting your tubes tied??
