What do baby boys need?!

Sooo. THANK YOU for ANSWERING! =)

Anyways i know with my first i spent lots of $ of onsies, one piece outfits which i ended up recieving as gifts, and in the end i had WAY TOO many of the plain cotton one piece things..... it was a girl... shes a lot of $!!! lol... Her shoes/dress/barretts HAVE to match.... hence the reason why shes got a drawer full of shoes and a hundred different hair things.... dont forget the different tights, and such.

This time we are having a boy. I went to kohls, and wow, DRESSING A BOY is much simpler!!!! Im so happy lol. i dont have to buy him 10 different colored shoes. but the things that i did buy were about 6 pairs of khakis/jeans.... and about 6 onsies that look like button up shirts and two knit sweaters by Chaps..... For going out/church... i also bought him two cute fleece one piece outfits.....

IS dressing a boy really this EASY>? I know this is just the begining and ive still got a lot to buy for him but Ive started with nice clothing, not things for house..... Should I buy ANY onsies/cotton one piece things? OR wait til i start recieving gifts so i can see what else ill need?? Bc like i said I had WAY too much of the home-clothes for bella bc i bought everything, and ended up recieving so much cotton things, not enough clothes to put her in for going out......

What do i need from clothes?? I already have stroller/carseat (infant AND toddler lol), swing, bassinet.... all of that i have what should i buy realistically?? And when do sales start of winter clothes? as i want to buy him things for next winter when he'll be 6 months. THANK YOU mucho ladies~!!!!!

Oh yeah it is totally different between and a dad and son...My son will always ask my DH what belt, shirt, hat, and shoes he is wearing that way he can try to match daddy as close as he can....it is so super cute when he does it too

LOL.... Way too funny!!!!! I also know when they pee it tends to go like a faucet?! squirt across a room? I found some "teepee" covers at motherhood mat.... Ill invest in those lol. And the peepee pointing down ill have to remember.... lol. ahh the joys of motherhood.

Ammanda I cant agree more on the "hoodies" they are the cutest invention for baby boys i think .... They make an outfit work so well, and look adorable too :o) My hubby is super excited for the shopping part, now its his "turn" lol. He is all like im going to spike his hair up, hes going to wear torn jeans, and button up shirts. lol :o) Its cute watching him all excited :))))) Hes thrilled when his daughter asks him " am i cute daddy?" but im sre its a whole different thing with men and their son.

Yea I love hoodies on my lil boy, i think he looks so adorable.   Idk, about when he gets older though, cause DB(his dad) loves clothes and shopping and has to have hollister, quicksilver, areo, all that crap...  I bought him a hoodie from walmart once.. guess where it is.... in the truck of our car.. I dont know why but it is... lol

But OMG Frank_noahs mommy.. I think that happended today, we went up to the hospital to see my mom and then to Lunch with my aunt.. and we got home I went to change him and he was soaked, but only like the part of the onsie where his diaper top is.. lol

Boys are SOOOO much easier!!!! Take it from a Mom with 2 boys. A couple pairs of jeans will go along way with a bunch of different shirts, A couple pairs of vans and they are set!!

Now when mine were newborns I needed lots of onesies, when you put the diaper on make sure there lil penis is pointing down because if it is up when they pee it will come out the top of the diaper and they get wet!!! lol Sounds funny but it is true, i changed them all the time because daddy did not check the penis...lol

With my son, I had him the end of July where it is 115* so he spent most his time in onsies. I too got tons at my shower so will not make the mistake of buying some myself again. Everyone always told me you cannot have enough of them but I sure did. He was easy to shop for but we had 2 boys in the family within a year before him so many hand me downs and they are still coming. There are lots of fun boy outfits though too so have fun with it!

I am just focusing on diapers, wipes and bath items right now. Oh, and I just picked up some Dreft to wash all the hand-me-downs I keep getting! After my baby shower(s) come and go, I will be able to spend more time and money on clothes, decorations and such that I didn't recieve.

As far as sales go, I think Target is having huge sales right now on all baby stuff because Jan 15th they are getting new inventory.

I too agree that boys are easier to shop for, but like Mom2Ariana said, all I dressed my son in was onsies. he was born in the middle of May. so it was ALWAYS hot.  But now that its cold as crap out, i get to put him in all the cute outfits, but no matter where we go, i can get him an outfit from between 10-20 bucks. depending on where we are.. and all his PJs are between 5-12.  Which he has alot more Pjs then he does Clothes, cause hes always in his pjs, cause we dont go anywhere much, Im a SAHM as for now..

But with my niece, I watch my sister spend soo sooo much money on her. My sister is a really big girly girl. heels dresses all that.. so my niece who is 2 years old. gets her hair cut every couple months at the salon, she has over 15 pairs of shoes/sandles.. and she never not buys her something, whether it be shoes/dresses.. and my niece loves dresses. and  dont get me started on hair pieces!!!! lol..  And right now the style is leggins.. well lets just say my 2 year old niece owns 5 pairs of leggins.. lol..

I like having a boy, he is spoiled, but still easier then my niece.,.., not to mention, my niece WILL tell you "hey this is cute" or "mom, I like this one" and throw it in the cart, and my sister never tells her no!

Yeah.... I already have everything left from my daughter, in gender neutral organic "hug me" set.... I have the swing/bouncer/bassinet/crib set........ and stroller is brand new, Its a maxi cosi foray.,... and we have a carseat. I only need clothes. All the things i have are in such good condition, thank God i never got rid of Isabellas "baby things" Id feel so dumb now to go and buy it all again. Oh and toys/walkers/jumpers I have it all still.. a few things were never opened. I recieved so much for the shower. Im not planning on a shower. It feels kind of strange.... I mean like i want gifts or something. We can buy all the things with no problem, but i know for sure our sons Grandmas wil go overboard again...

my boys are expensive...and spoiled.

a few of the thing that we bought them were socks, cute itty bitty sandals (they were born in the summer), TONS of hats, bibs, their bedding, stuffed animals, decorations for the nursery (curtains, valance, trash can, changing table, dresser, toy box, hangers, hamper, area rug, my dad bought my glider and ottoman...which i still have and use 2 1/2 years later. I love it.),  bouncey horses (the toys that have the seat attached to springs), bouncey chairs, their tummy time boards, books...and my mother in law bought me pee pee tee pee's as a gag gift. I had seen them online while pregnant and thought they were HILARIOUS. They just cracked me up and I told her about them. She bought me a few for the baby shower. I didn't use them but did use them in the room decor when the room was a nursery. *sigh* now it's big boys room.

i think sales begin around february / march when spring clothes come out. and as far as onesies and things around the house, i think you are definitely still going to want those. i had ariana in those ALL  the time, esp because she was born in the summer. i know shes a girl, but a newborn is a newborn and you're still going to want easy outfits to snap & unsnap and change often when they spit up / poop up the back of their diaper..
as far as the shower goes, id definitely wait for the practical things like onesies & pjs. for now, just buy the cutesie outfits you like and register for plain onesies later on. :)

I must be weird. I never thought it was difficult to dress either or, but I also don't bother with tights, shoes, and all those other things girls have either. I do agree to not get anything yet though and to see what people buy.

This post is interesting to me. We don't know what we are having and it is our first. I never really thought about how dressing a girl or boy would effect the bank account. But, everyone keeps saying things like, "If you have a girl, don't buy anything! I have tons of stuff for you!" and I get the same thing about little boys :) So, I'm not so worried about it. I have enough neutral clothing to go from newborn to 6 months.

boy are so easy to dress as the look cute in shorts and shirts, and even better when they are older they still don't care that mum still buys clothes they not fussy at all, i have a ds and another one on the way, the only thing i find frustrating is that there isn't as much variety to choose from for boys as there is girls, well here in australia anyway.

Yeah Im happy about the easier to pick out an outift then for a girl!!!! lol. For my daughter its rediculous!!! Honestly!!! the shoes the bow the tights the dress.... yeah... And i know for sure if i was going to have another girl ID STILL WANT TO GO shopping for her, even though i have more then enough stuff.

Im happy with it being so simple for a boy! =)

I wanted to go out shopping like a maniac, but of course my husband put a stop to it lmao! He promised that january i could go "crazy" with the baby stuff, but after talking to my sisters about it they told me they had bought a bunch of stuff that they didnt even use and some clothes never worn and that hand me downs are always good to get lol. Everytime i go to the store i beg my husband to let me go in the baby section but hes pretty good at avoiding that part of the store lol. Ive even had my card taken away, guess my husband thought that would keep me from shopping...guess he forgot that i can just go into the bank and get money LOL! Im so used to shopping for girl things since i have 3 nieces and i rarely buy boy stuff since i only have 1 nephew, but when i do shop for him i find it so much easier to pick outfits without having to buy matching accessories lol.

I havent really bought anything yet LOL! But my sister who has 2 girls 1 boy said my nephew was definitely easier to buy for! She told me not to buy anything until after the baby shower to see what kinds of things i get. So probably waiting until after the baby shower to buy what you need would be a good idea. His closet is full of clothes from my sisters and might not be able to fit anymore stuff in there and i havent had my baby shower yet!

Yeah for some reason those are things people love to buy. Maybe its because they are so easy to get and with clothes it can be tricky because you never know if the mother will like them or not.

Boys do seem a lot cheapier to buy for. I don't have much experience as this is my first pregnancy. But I would see what other people get you and maybe focus right now on the going out clothes. Because people usually get you like onsies and sleepers and stuff to start with.
