Nothing will prevent stretchmarks you either get them or maybe you'll be lucky and get none. If I ever get pregnant again I definally won't be spending money on creams.

I use the Tummy Honey by Bella B and I have no stretch marks as of yet...I'm almost 38 weeks.....although some say that they will appear after delivery.....My Mom has none from the 3 of us other either, so it may be genetic like a couple of the other girls said....I mostly use it b/c it smells good and makes my belly soft......Probably a waste of $$ but what the heck!

I use some stuff called tummy butter and it is acutally lightening mine up. I've always been a bigger girl, so i freaked out thinking OMG how am I going to look at 9 months pregnant...so anyways, got some of the tummy butter stuff and it works rather well. It doesn't prevent them but it definately makes them lighter. Hope this helps.

I am also with laura and alayaha, you are either prone to getting them or you aren't but it doesn't hurt to try. If your mom and sisters have them you most likely will too.
Sorry it *****, my belly looks like a tiger.

No lotion will prevent stretch marks since it is a genetic factor and if you are genetically inclined to get them then you will. However lotions do work to moisturize the skin and make it less itchy when stretching and helps the elasticity of the skin. Maderma is more of scar healer and should be used AFTER pregnancy. I used practically every stinking kind of lotion or gel or goop to help prevent stretch marks and I still  got a whole bunch all over my stomach during pregnancy. After I had my daughter I lubed myself up multiple times a day with lubriderm intensive care lotion since its what was recommended to me after a got a tattoo to minimize scarring and help promote healing. I also put maderma on twice a day and by the time she was 4 months you could barely see them and now at 11 months post birth I don't have one visible stretch mark. Good luck! I hope that everything turns out the way you desire.

Hey,

Not to be a "debbie downer..." BUT ..... I have tried every friggen cream on the planet ranging from $5.00 up to $25.00, and I refuse to spend any more money b.c my belly looks literally like Freddie Kreuger got at it.. I lotion up at least 1-2 times per day and I honestly dont think it helps AT ALL...

I hope you have better luck than me.. Maybe I just have bad "skin genes?"

Alot of people use Maderma (kinda expensive but it works) I also use Vasaline Intensive Care with Cocoa Butter (its very thick, not the watery kind of lotion) That has worked great so far too
