Whats the procedure...

I know I already posted this but  I'm still nervous and would like to know if anyone else had any experience with it.  I have an appointment on Friday at the health office for a pregnancy test, and I'd like to know what to expect. I have to do this by myself as my fiance is going to be at work, so I know I'll be dead nervous..lol. I've used hpts and they've all come up negative so can I still get a blood test at the health office or a ultrasound, or is just a pee test they give out? Is it better than the home pregnancy tests?

the health department here just does pee tests but generally speaking they are more sensitive than home tests.  Most likely the health department won't do an u/s.

I had a mixture of positive and negative tests back in april and had bloods taken just before i had a m/c. If you are going to be requesting a blood test ask for a quantiative test as this shows the exact level of hcg in the blood (which is much more reliable that urine) and my doctor advised that it can detect a pregnancy almost immediately after conception.

You should expect to wait around 3 days for the results.

I too have an appointment with the family planning clinic tonight and the docs tomorrow as i havent had a period since coming off BC almost 4 months ago so i too am shaking with nerves.

I really dont know what to expect
