When did labour start for you?

So I thought to pass the time while I'm waiting for things to get going with my labour I'd ask when did labour start for you? If you have a similar experience to me even better :) I am 40 weeks today and had a membrane sweep yesterday after a very uncomfortable last few days of contractions stopping and starting. Well it has definately done something.. contractions still irregular but alot stronger and I am continuously losing LOTS of my mucus plug. Just a matter of time before I meet my baby boy :)
How did it start for you?

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I seem to be at a stop again now. I've done a little walk this morning but its so hot here at the moment I really cant stand it being this pregnant :( So I came back and have given my whole house the once over, made sure I'm as organised as can be for baby and nothing has started up as of yet. Had lots of bloody show last inght along with mucus plug coming awa so its just a very boring, frustrating waiting game.

PetiteWonder that lasts sentence you wrote.. I was never one for rushing things but when things start, you get excited and things were really moving alng for me.. and now they are not.. Thats exactly how I'm feeling at the minute, you get so excited just for it to all stop!
Will keep you updated on progress IF there is any..

=) I feel like im in the same boat as you.. and the waiting is getting rough..  Im only 37 weeks 5 days now but 3 days ago, I started having regular contractions every 3-5 mins apart that did not die down if i rested and were alot worst if i was walking.. So being an noob first time mom, I went into the hospital... They have told me over and over again to go into the hospital if im having regular contrations 5-7 mins apart ... and mine were 3-5 mins apart, most were 3 mins on the dot....  I timed them for two hours before heading to the hospital too..

So I went in and I was measuring 1 cm dilated 75% effaced... They of course sent me home and told me when to come back... The contractions continued over the next 24 hours, I didnt sleep at all... Every 3 mins mostly with the occaisonal one at 4-5mins instead.... I walked around the mall for 3 hours in the AM and things had gotten really intense, I was having some bloody show and I had to start stopping and breathing through them... I went home to rest as I could barely walk anymore, they died down a bit but I was like whatever, Ill go back to the hospital as I was feeling burnt out after the 24 hours....  At the hospital, I was now measuring 3 CM 90% effaced....   so they had me walk around 2 hours then come back to get checked but then the contractions started dying down every 5-6mins instead.. so they decided we would skip the check since if i would have progress, things would be getting more intense.

So day 3- i get up and went for an hour long walk around the park, by the end, I was in so much pain and having 3 min contractions again...  It was getting really intense, so i had a quick lunch and headed out again hoping to progress... but i was still only 3 CM and slightly thinned out more... So I came home and now am trying to do whatever i can to distract myself...

Im now having irregular contractions and they are not very intense... Ill probably end up sitting here at 3 CM for the next several weeks and end up getting induced...  I was never one for rushing things but when things start, you get excited and things were really moving alng for me.. and now they are not..

I agree walking really helps. With my first my water just randomly broke and they had to induce since I didn't go into labor on my own. With my second I had a membrane sweep and lots irregular contractions and discharge. Then the morning after my membrane sweep I had my bloody show. Had dh walk with me for a mile and tried to relax after and much as possible since I heard you are more likely to start labor while resting. Anyways laid down to bed and within 30 minutes was in active labor. Went to the hospital and was dilated 4 cm 100% effaced but they wouldn't admit me until I was 5 cm so I had to walk around the maternity ward for an hour at whichever point I was 6 cm and then had her about an hour to and hour and a half later. I'm sure your be having your baby soon! Congrats momma!
