When did you all start buying things?

I'm so anxious to start buying things for the baby! But I don't want to start "too soon". I'm constantly online and going into stores to look at furniture and nursery bedding. I guess it's good to know whats out there and get some prices on items, so checking out can't hurt. When did you all start buying things like nursery furniture, baby clothes, other equipment, etc.?

I have my 12 week apt today and am so excited to hear the heartbeat! I think once that happens, I'll feel more confident about everything and can feel safe about buying things. We have a very busy October ahead of us, so I'm thinking November will probably be when we end up buying furniture and starting the baby's room. At like 9 weeks, I did buy one neutral super soft blanket and stuffed animal combo just because I wanted DH and I to be the first ones to buy something for the baby!

I did a registry at 20 weeks but did not purchase anything until after baby was born. I had my shower at 34.5 weeks pregnant and then gave birth a few days later

With my first son I started super early buying things and in the end it was much better since I was more prepared. I had everything ready to go before I hit the 3rd trimester. This time around I waited til really late and started rushing to get everything. I was 30 weeks and now 38 and still don't have everything.

I would wait atleast until your passed the 12 week mark. Thats what I did after I had my first miscarriage. I didn't want to be stuck with all that baby stuff which would only make me feel worse.
But definitly price things out or make a list of things you want to get so at your 20 week sono right when you leave you can hit the baby section of every store. Good Luck to you! And congrats on the baby!

I'm 10 weeks and already have a registry going. It's all just furniture and stuff like that though. But we have been trying to get pregnant and stay pregnant for almost 3 years now so I did it as a way to keep my mind off what could go wrong and just focus on all the cute baby stuff we will be needing. But with my son I think I started buying gender neutral things around 16-20 weeks then boy stuff after that. My mom is the worst though. She has a feeling this one is a girl and has already stocked up on girl stuff. So we shall see. :)

I'm one of those people that got furniture when I was only like 3 months pregnant! Anything else, I didn't start getting until after I found out it was a boy so like 19 weeks.

After my 20 week ultrasound. I only bought things for the room though since I had a baby shower. While waiting for my baby shower though I got the room put together and perfect. It took a lot of my craving to shop to decorate the nursery so I didn't shop as much. Just bought a crib and a changer/dresser and the bedding and changing pad and cover that matched the bedding. Having the room perfect was so important to me that I didn't want to let anyone maybe purchase the wrong things. It took months to get the room perfect and by then it was time for the baby shower and I got everything else I needed plus gift certificates to buy all the extras a fortified in the beginning.

I did my registry around 20 weeks as a way to satistify my need to buy baby items.. at least i got to pick some stuff out that way... I started buying things around 25 weeks when I returned from a visit home after my baby shower...  I started slow and then probably like 27-28 weeks, I went and bought a lot of essentials, even got diapers, etc...  The stroller was the last thing i ended up buying, I didnt get that until around 33 weeks because I was shopping around alot for it...

though i still need a baby monitor lol... better get that soon

I did my registry after my 18W ultrasound when we found out the sex.

I bought a few outfits before that were gender neutral and I never put them on her! I didn't buy anything until after the baby shower so I knew what I NEEDED. I got so much in gift cards that I think I only spent less than $50 out of pocket for the needed items. I also returned the duplicate items and stuff that wasn't needed to purchase the stuff I did need or want.
