When did you show?

My best friend is 6 1/2 months and hardly showing at all, I wouldn't say she looks "pregnant" yet.  I saw another friend the other day and she is only 5 months and already you can tell she is definatly pregnant!  Could the difference in height play a factor in how soon you show?  My best friend is 5' 8" and is the one that isn't even showing and the other friend is probably 5' 3".  I just think its interesting how soon some people show and others don't.  I was 12 weeks before my miscarriage and already people were asking me if I was pregnant, but I was 5' 3.5" and only 110 pounds.  I am a little worried for my best friend because the doctor said that the baby is either going to be very short (no one in their family is) or she concieved a week later.  Her little one is measuring small when the doctor measured its femer.  I know how much she wants this baby and hoping it all goes well.  So ladies just wondering when did you start looking like you were actually "pregnant"?

I'm 5'0" and Pre-Pregnancy I weighed 100 lbs and was in the best physical shape of my life. No one even knew I was Pregnant until I was almost 6 months. I had a growing bump but for some reason if I wasn't wearing tight shirts no one could even tell. Even now being 7 months Pregnant, from behind you would never know I was Pregnant. I didn't start to really show until I was 22 weeks or so. My doctor told me the smaller you are (height and weight) the more noticeable it will be when you pop. She said the heavier you are...the less you see that round ball looking belly. My cousin was very over weight when she got pregnant...over 250 pounds and through her entire pregnancy you could never tell she was pregnant, there was so roundness or firmness to her stomach at all. One of my good friends got pregnant a couple years back, she was tiny like me and as soon as her belly popped you could tell there was a little baby in there! But her arms, legs butt, everything else stayed the same. So I think it definitely depends on your size pre-pregnancy and how you took care of your body. I'm 7 months pregnant and I'm still in my regular clothes. Some of my shirts dont fit cuz their too short with my belly but I'm still in all my regular pants. So again, I think it just depends, everyone is different!

Pre-pregnancy first time I was 110 lbs, i'm 5'6"....And I've been completely and uderly fit my entire life, and my doctor told me if you have stronger stomach muscles, you'll show later!  But then the more pregnancies you have the sooner you show, even if your muscles are tight as can be!!

With my first I started showing at about 5 and half months, everyone at work commented on how I suddenly looked pregnant finally in a matter of a week or so. This time I have been showing since 8 weeks although I am having twins, I have been having people ask me when I am due since about 17 weeks, when they find out its twins they usually give a sympathetic smile and say well your not that big for twins (nice save). I gained 26 pounds with my first and to date I have gained 20 with the twins and we are 27 weeks. I was about a size 14 pre pregnancy with both.

I am only 5 ft and didnt really start to show until 30 weeks.  I was 32 weeks before anyone noticed who I didnt tell first and everyone was very surprised when I would tell them that I was due in two months.  THEN... it all came at once.  I felt like I was doubling in size over night.  I wouldnt worry too much about the week behind thing with the femur.  We all know that people grow at different rates and so do fetus'.  I'm sure the baby will be perfectly healthy and if it is only one week behind, It will be of normal height also.

I started showing at 5 weeks, but really showing at 12 weeks. I am now 17 weeks tomorrow and I get the question 'when are you due' question all the time. I love answering it because I am due!! FINALLY!!!

I was 5' 8" and weighed 130lb when I got pregnant. I have no idea why some women show earlier than others. I personally think most of it is wives tales. I think most of was genetics.

I think later...the tighter your muscles are the longer they'll hold your uterus "in" before they let loose and let the uterus pop out and give you the baby belly.

If you are in good physical condition and fit are you more likely to show sooner or later?

Well before my m/c I was in maternity pants and that was at 12 weeks.  My size 2-3 pants would barley button by 10 weeks and so I just went to nice and comfy maternity pants. My best friend at 6 1/2 months just started wearing maternity pants... it's crazy how it varries so much.

Im just about on my 18th week and im not showing, im bigger. It looks chubbier. I guess my uterus pushed all the fat forward lol (i wasnt really fat to begin with but had a little) If you look at preggo belly pics on some sites you will see such a difference in the sizes. Some are 6months and can still wear size 3 jeans and others are the same and have to wear maternity cause they look 8 months.

I was 5'0" and 104 pre pregnancy with my daughter.  I gained 27 lbs. and began to show a bump at about 12 weeks.  Like I was holding  1/2 a softball against my belly.

I'm almost 17 weeks and although I can't button my pre pregnancy pants and I can see a little belly (because I had a flat stomach so any belly is a huge change for me BUT I don't really look 'pregnant'  )I bet no one would guess I was pregnant if they just saw me...

I am 5'2 and weighed 140 before pregnancy

I've gained 8 and a half pounds and my doctor said I was doing well, not to worry or watch my weight and that I could gain between 25 & 35 pounds...

I am 24 weeks and there is no hiding the fact that I am pregnant.  I started to "look pregnant" where people would ask when I was due, at 20 weeks.

I am 5'0 and weighed 120 pre-pregnancy.  Yes, height plays a part.  My torso is obviously smaller than someone who is 5'3 or 5'5 or 5'8.  So, I don't have enough room for my uterus to grow up... instead, it grows out! :)  Hope that helps :)

With my first, at 28 weeks, I couldn't button my size 0 pants...  I popped out a bit more to tell I was pregnant, but barely at 32 weeks, and had my daughter 2 weeks later.

My son, I started to not beable to button my pants at 25 weeks.

And this time, I am already showing.  I started showing at 14 weeks.

Everyone carries different, it wont affect the baby though!
