When to test, when to see doctor

I have had an IUD since October 2006.  I was irregular before the IUD, and now my periods are almost nonexistent - I've had 2 in the last year, one in May, the one before in November.  I can still tell I have some type of cycle, as I still have cravings/get a bit cranky/bloated monthly, but I don't bleed.  I am having a lot of classic pregnancy symptoms - sensitive breasts, sensitivity to smells, nausea, milky white vaginal discharge, red, sore labia, back pain, lightheadedness, hot flashes, sweating.  Because I haven't menstruated since may, I don't know when I ovulated.  6 days after the first possible conception, I had a very small amount of bleeding - it only lasted about 6 hours, and was very light red/pink.  I don't know if it was from the IUD being moved around during sex, rough sex, or embryotic implantation.  I took a test 14 days after the first possible conception (last Thursday), and it was negative.  The symptoms have since continued and become more intense.  When should I take a pregnancy test?  Even if I'm NOT pregnant, at what point should I see a doctor about these weird symptoms?  Is it overkill to go see my doctor if I THINK I might be, especially with an IUD?

IUD' s are just not for some people but they are great. I had one for three years and loved it. I did not have a period the whoe time. But then again my best friend had one and she was in pain all the time and still had periods. I was always woried about getting pregnant when I had mine too because I still had all the symptoms of my period but did not bleed. But like everyone else has said you need to get checked by a dr. b/c it could be eptopic.

Good luck!

I had mirena for almost 4 years, never had a period and I loved it!
Its very important to call your Dr if you think you're pregnant, or if there's something wrong.
What kind of IUD do you have?

I would go to the doctor to check, but it could be nothing.  I had an IUD and if you have mirena, it's suppose to stop your periods.  And or lighten them significally...  It's extremely important to find out if your pregnant with the iud in because that would lead to an ectopic pregnancy and may need surgery to remove stuff.  So it's important to find out for sure!  The bleeding could have been from the IUD being moved, it also causes cramping when that happens, but you could get pregnant at that point too...

I am not trying to scare you but it's important to know!

I would test again in the morning and if it is still negative I would call my doctor and tell him the whole story.

I am not really familiar with IUD so I can't help with your timing, but you sound like you have some pretty good pg symptoms.

Test in the morning and call your doctor either way!!

Good luck!!
