I'll be 29 weeks on Wednesday and laying on my back or my left side are the only comfortable positions I have. When I lay on my back I always try to put a pillow under me to keep me from laying directly on my back. Not a really big pillow, but one that has been used and is kinda flattish (not as fluffy as brand new pillow).
Also once you get farther along and the uterus has pushed your stomach up into your lungs its very difficult to breath! Sleeping on your belly is not harmful during most of the pregnancy....just towards the end us when it may be a little more uncomfortable! Like the other ladies said a pillow works great! They also have pregnancy pillows that will form around your belly and go between your legs. This type is good because it gives you the feel of sleeping on your stomach while on your side! If your like me I need to feel that padding on my stomach to sleep! Good luck dear!
you can try sleeping with a pillow between your legs if you arnt all ready it helps me sleep a lil better :)
Thank you very much for your help :)
Oh, if you're comfortable sleeping on your stomach, then you can. I'm 25 weeks and sleep half on my side and half on my stomach. Sleeping on your stomach won't squish your baby, he or she has plenty of padding. But chances are the farther along you get the less comfortable it will be to sleep on your stomach.
As your uterus grows, sleeping on your back puts pressure on a vein and decreases blood flow to you and baby. It can cause a few problems, low blood pressure being one of them.
