Worried about birth defects

I was using acne medicines that are Category C for about the first 3 weeks of my pregnancy, until my doctor told me to stop taking them. I was using Duac daily and Bactrim. Could these have caused birth defects that quickly?

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, I didn't realise you couldn't take Ibuprofen and was taking them for the first couple of weeks, I didn't even know I was pregnant. When I got hyperemesis I was diagnosed tablets that weren't suggested for use during pregnancy but there was no proven medical research to show that they had any affect on baby.
Just think about all the people who don't find out early on who weren't trying to get pregnant and go out clubbing/smoking and continuing life as normal til they find out..l.very rarely do their babies have defects. Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy, congratulations x

Class C doesn't mean your child will have any birth defects. It just means there are no adequate studies done on humans to prove one way or another. Your doctor would be the best to ask about it. Studies show the chance of a defect with Bactrim are low, but it's unknown. I'm unsure of the other. I would think you'd be ok, but no one will be able to tell you for sure.
