Would you be mad or am I just being petty?

my exs wife recently had her baby and she chose the name Aliza Hailey-Mae and that is the name me and my ex chose when we were thinking of having children.  Im kinda mad about that.. his new wife doesnt know that I picked that name out with him because he is the one that named their child.  Im not only mad but kinda creeped out as well... isnt that kind of weird?? And the first person he decided to call to tell the baby was here was my mom.... i mean we dated for 5 years so granted they were close but isnt that weird too?? Im just really creeped out by this situation and kinda mad that he would use the name me and him picked out together for his child with his wife

I would say one of the names wouldn't be weird. But the fact that he took the WHOLE name... totally creepy.

I personally would be creeped out and very upset. That was a private, intimate thing between the two of you and while you're not together anymore, it's like he's just not thinking. He's just NOT thinking! One of my ex-boyfriends and I picked out the name Logan Davis for a boy and now my sister wants to use the name Logan if she has a boy. I told her, "More power to you!" because my DH would NOT ever name our child that since an ex and I thought it up.

I love the name Logan. It's so cute and boyish. So I'd rather have a nephew named that! I mean, why would I give myself the reminder of my ex? Because honestly that name would remind me of my ex.

I would be pissed that he's such an *** that he would do that...BUT it's one of those things that's just not worth STAYING pissed over.  It's simply a name and there are millions to choose from.  The principle of the matter is just that he's an arse...but you obviously already knew that since he's your EX :)

I dunno...I wanted to name my 1st DD, Desiree, but me and my ex husband went with another name that had personal meaning behind it. My DH now suggested we name our soon to be born DD that. We will be naming her Cheree Desiree. It's just a name I really like and my DH isn't bothered by the fact it's one me and my ex tossed around. Infact my DH suggested using it. My ex is also having a baby this month with his wife and even if they did use that name I don't think it would bother me. Ofcourse, they are having a boy so I don't have to worry about that...lol

Well I could understand both sides actually. When my parents divorced, and my dad remarried, they named their kids all of the names my mom and dad had picked out for us (if we had been boys) It could just be that your ex really liked the name. Or simply isn't creative enough to come up with something on his own. Take that as a compliment. As for calling your mom, well I'm still close with some ex's parents. When I go home I do make a point to see them. Its just something my husband deals with. He probably doesn't like it, but those people had been a big part of my life. If it makes you uncomfortable talk to your mom about it.
