Xrays without shield

Hello, I had two bite wing xrays done when I was three days pregnant without an apron. I didn't know that I was pregnant then until I just had my first ultrasound and it confirmed the date of conception. Is the baby going to be okay? Please respond, thank you...

Oh ok. I do not do dental x-rays. But I'm sure you are fine. They should of shielded you but at least the Ultrasounds show that your baby is fine. So that's a good sign.

Hello, bite wing xrays are for the teeth. I was only three days pregnant at the time. Now I am 13 weeks pregnant and all ultrasounds have been normal.

Hello. I am an X-ray tech. It is said that the fisrt 3-4 moths of pregnancy are the most important especially in the first few days because that is when the cells seperate to form your baby. However, it also depends on what part of your body your got radiated. Was it on your chest of stomach? I'm pretty sure that your baby will be fine depending on the amount of radiation you've gotten because like I said that was the time when the cells that are going to be your baby are forming. It could have cost you to have a misscarriage or maybe some type of deformaty to teh baby. That is why we always have to ask, "are you or could you be pregnant?" and that is especially why we shield the patient. But try not to stress about it. If you really feel too nervous, ask your OB doc about it and he/she can probably tell you more about the consequences of radiation.
