Yeast Infection/Vaginal Itching

How many of you have experienced this and what was the best and safest way to cure.
I was told Canesten but then find a lot of controversy around the topic.
Any advise would be great!

I would say not to use a period pad. Sorry Cassandra....there would be now breathability with a pad on. 100% cotton undies are the best or at any given time try to go commando or without anything....most people can only do this at night. LOL The pad could just help the bacteria grow even more.

Canasten is safe whilst pregnant. OR sudocrem... :) Helps me, I mix between both, at the start i will use canasten and when it dies down I used Sudocrem untill gone (lasts about a week, I get it like once every other month....
Yoghurt does help too :)
Also wear a period pad (A thick one, so then your undies doesn't irritate it and make it itchy if wearing cream you can put a bit extra on the pad and things :)

My doc gave me the cream but the pad thing was my own thing because I was getting annoyed of my underwear rubbing it more if that makes sense :)

Yoghurt helped alot, I was afraid to take any creams as well. But drinking is also very important but natural youghurt is a plus. And cut down on sugar, that's an important one.

I got a YI on my 5th wk and immediately went to the dr to get a rx. The treatment lasted 7 days and it took the whole 7 days before I had any relief. I drank plenty of water and cranberry juice. I still drink that now even after its gone just to kind of prevent it from coming back, oh and yogurt too helps!!

The caneston cream I used was a 3 day treatment and apparently it was suppose to be the best while pregnant and was prescribed by my  doctor.  The miscaIrriage is unexplained and will always be unexplained but I would never use caneston again

They say not to use the creams within the first 10 weeks but it's safe if you use the lower dose creams after that. I had two y/i's and used the canestan 6 day treatment. The first one it took more than 6 days to go away and the second it only took a couple because I got it early. Another good thing to do is drink a lot of water and eat yogurt more regularly. I made sure I asked my pharmacist and they gave me better info than my doc even would have I think!
In the meantime soak a cloth in cold water and just put it on there to relieve the itching and avoid sex.

I was going to ask the same question. I am 10weeks pregnant and I refuse to use caneston or any type of cream. With my last pregnancy I had thrush from the start of my pregnancy.  At 10-11weeks I couldn't handle it anymore so I use caneston.  That didn't work so at 13weeks 5days I had my second treatment. At 14 weeks I started to bleeding and 14 weeks 1 day I miscarried my son.  The report came back my son had passed between 10-11 weeks but there was so no way I could conclusively link my miscarriage to the caneston cream.

Since I am11 weeks pregnant I have just stared noticing an itchness  around there.  I am petrified and I don't know what to use.

Please help

I got this in my early weeks of pregnancy, before i found out, and i just tried using a regular otc application for a few days and it didnt seem to help, just more irritation, so i went to the dr and got on an antibiotic. I've always used otc stuff in the past but this time around it didnt work for me, however there are many types of yeast infections. I don't have a good answer but probabbly the best thing is going to the Dr.
