Both my boys have eczema and my husband does too and they use Eucerine creme. it works really well. There is also one especially for babies. I cant remember the name of it but they sell it in Rite aid for $14 and it's in the baby isle. If I reme, ber the name of it I will let you know.

If your 2 week old has eczema, it can be treated with a special cream... I forget what it's called , but it's something the dr. has to prescribe... It's a special paste..... If it's just dry skin, use some lotion that has aloe vera in it... I used it with my Daughter until she was officially diagnosed with eczema...... :-)

I work in the newborn ICU and we use Eucerin when our kiddos dry up.

Vaseline is my vote! I use it as a diaper rash cream too since the others (Desitin, for example) have harsh chemicals in them. The Vaseline will lock in moisture and protect his skin from further irritation.

But ultimately, a dermatologist/ped. needs to check out any rashes. If it is just dry skin, then the Vaseline should help. Also, try not to use soap at every bathtime as it dries skin out and baby really doesn't need it except 1-2 times a week. Brrrr! The things cold weather does to our skin!!!

I've also heard great things about Aveeno, but never personally used it. That probably won't be as sticky as Vaseline.

My son had eczema all over his face and I used vaseline every day, I would caution against anything with cortisone at that young age, long term use does have side effects.
