I did with my 2nd and I was so scared i was going to before I went into labor. But honestly in that moment I didn't even care. I just wanted the baby out. It wasn't a big deal the nurses clean you and actually say it means you are pushing the right way.

I personally didn't poo...but I had gas. My mom was in the OR with me (My hubby was on his way home from D.C when I went into labor) and she just giggled. So it was no big deal at all. I did know I had gas and between giggles, screams and pushes I apologized. My nurse and ob doc just laughed and said don't worry about it just push.

Honestly you won't even notice if you do. One of the nurses will quickly wipe it away and keep on going. Those doctors and nurses see so much crap (literally and figuratively) that it doesn't bother them. It's part of their job. So don't worry about if you poo or not, just focus on pushing that baby out.

Reading these comments had me truly lol! I had 3 babies and I did poo with my first! That was the only one I got the epidural with so maybe that has something to do with it?! I don't know, but I know I did not care one bit =) I wasn't even sure I pooped until I asked..no big deal..lol...They clean you up and move on...I didn't stink up the room so that's good news =))

It's the literal translation of s h I t happens ;). I did not poop or throw up but I was totally afraid of both happening and when I was pushing my OB said push harder and I told him I couldn't or I'd throw up on him :P

I have had 4 babies and I only pooped with the 4th. Max was the biggest and trust me you will be so into the pushing, pooping will be the last thing on your mind. I pooped and the nurse simply wiped me and kept telling me to push...and I pooped again:)
They see it all the time and your hubby will be to into whats coming out of your va jay jay to care if you pooped or not. I told my DH that I had pooped and he was like "Really?" He didn't even notice. It's normal and do not be embarassed. I wasn't one little bit. You'll be fine.

I love this question. It truely put a smile on my face. Unfortunatly its not controlled. Everyone is correct you won't even know if you do. It goes out with the rest of the trash. I did with my children but one. I wish I had because maybe my bum would not of hurt so bad after. Relax and don't worry. Trust us all when we say what ever happens is NORMAL.

I just had my baby 6 weeks ago and I DID poop! lol
But I'll be honest about it, you will NOT care. You won't even know your doing it. They clean you up before you even realize it. And if your worried someone will see it, don't be...... my husband told me I pooped in the midst of me pushing. I couldn't help but laugh! It's totally normal and happens to some women. Once you get the baby out, you won't even be thinking about whether or not you went to the bathroom.

Afterwards, while I was getting stitched up, I was pooting in my doctors face!! LOL! And he said that it's from the epidural so it didn't matter if I could hold it or not. It just happens. Your doctor sees this stuff all the time. Don't worry about it. I find it very humorous that my husband seen my poop for the first time after being so modest about it. I feel like now I could go to the bathroom with the door open! LOL But of course I don't :))

I didn't poop or throw up with my 2nd, and my husband said that during my first I dropped "a hershey kiss" (sorry that's SO gross, LOL) but I didn't notice or care, and neither did anyone else.

You'll be just fine...and please, continue to ask your questions...I'm so proud that your'e willing to ask for support instead of continuing to be afraid. you have the most power in your labor when you are educated about and prepared for what you're going to face!

I wouldnt worry about your husban, he will be to overwhelmed/ in awe/in love at what you have just done and be smitten by your new bub that noticing what has happend during the birth will be the last thing on his mind. Also its not like your poo is like what you do in the toilet, as usually a couple of days before and right up to when you go into labour your body senses this and usually your bowel motions get alot looser and you go more frequently, so by the time your ready to push, if you do pass anything its usually so small and soft that you wouldnt even notice it and as the other ladies have said, it will be mixed with blood, amniotic fluid etc, its not like there is going to be a big "log"lol sitting there looking up at everyone just waiting to be noticed :) :)

Not necessarily. I didn't do either while giving birth--came super close to vomiting, but didn't.

Lol, in my case my nurse got a lot more fun things on her. When I finally got Kylie out (I had been pushing for a bit already) she got sprayed with blood and heaven knows what else and then as soon as Kylie was out SHE had a BM everywhere on me, the doctor, DH, the bed... it was great.

Most women do, some don't. I know you're worried about it now, but I promise when you are in the middle of delivering that baby you won't care about anything else but getting it out.

I personally did NOT, (I asked the nurse, my mom and my husband multiple times and I know they're not lying) but a lot of other "fun" things come out so it's not a problem. Most nurses are actually happy if you do have a BM because it shows them that you're pushing properly.
