If your placenta "{detatched}" you would lose your baby. Simple as that. They would not have let you go home. i think what your talking about is Placenta Previa. Not DEtached Placenta. If you are 100% sure your "placenta" detatched then that is one dumb doc to send you on your way like that. Call the hospital/your doctor. I thin keither way they should be keeping you in Bed. Good Luck!!

placenta previa is very different than an abruption. placenta previa is when it is covering the cervix, the baby can not naturally be delivered. an abruption is when the placenta seperates from the wall. it could be a little separation and can get worse so put yourself on light duty and as much bed rest as possible even before the doc tells you. they put me on bed rest too late and I just lost my baby boy at 18 weeks. I will never forgive myself for believing the doctors when they said it's not a big risk at this point. he died inside me at home. i bleed for weeks before they figured out the cause and even longer till they put me on bed rest. be careful and pray

From what I have been through a full detachment of the placenta is called a placental abruption. A placental abruption is a very serious issue, as the baby recieves its blood and oxygen from you, and you body passes it through the placenta to the baby.

If your placenta is just low lying like placenta previa you will probably be put on light duty, not lifting and such, a placenta previa almost always needs a c-section to deliver the baby.

I seriously doubt it is an abruption, and abruption will almost always cause fetal demise. It can also cause you to hemmorage.

I had a slight placenta abruption with my oldest son, which caused me to hemmprage, and had caused me to go into labor full force a month early from my due date.

Im praying for you that its just placenta previa and you dont have any major health issues.

is it fully detached? Because that can cause problems, but if it's only partly detached, then your ok. you just need to go on bedrest for the rest of your pregnancy.
