Thank you so much for everyone's input. It is so nice to hear things from women who know exactly what I'm going through. I can't wait to see what my level is on Friday. I did note some nausea this morning, and my breasts were extremely sore last night. I hope those are good signs! Thanks again to everyone!
I was pregnant back in Sept last year and my HCG levels weren't very high and to cut a long story short i miscarried at 6 weeks. Then i got pregnant again 2 months later and the doctors were worried because my levels weren't doubling again like they should and i got all worried and upset that it's going to happen all over again but i am now 6 and a half months pregnant. Try not to worry to be honest i wish i never got my blood test monitored as it causes alot of unnessesary stress.
I can't tell you how it is going to turn out and i know you will worry as its normal to but try and have hope.
Good luck.
that's NORMAL. it can take 72 hrs to double! my levels were 27hcg for my first test... then 8 days later it was 343... so doubling around 48-72 hrs. At around 5 weeks I had a U/S and saw NOTHING. no heartbeat, no baby... just a sac.
8 or 9 days later had another u/s and saw the baby... and the heartbeat.
My physician said that the increase should be no less than 66% by 48 hours. Good Luck monitoring you hcg levels is definately a head ache
They did do a porgesterone, but they had to send it off and I haven't heard the results yet. Maybe if my dr had waited 72 hours to test I wouldn't be such a nut-case right now!! I'm going to try to stay as positive as I can... all I can do now is pray!
heres the info from webmd
A single HCG value doesn't give enough information about the health or viability of the pregnancy. Within the first 2-4 weeks after fertilization, HCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours. That usually corresponds to HCG levels below 1200 IU. From 1200-6000, the HCG usually takes 72-96 hours to double. Above 6000 IU, the hCG often takes over four days to double. So, the rate of increase in HCG levels normally varies as a pregnancy progresses. Normal HCG values vary up to 20 times between different pregnancies, however, and an HCG that does not double every two to three days does not necessarily indicate a problem with the pregnancy. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low levels of HCG, and result in perfect babies.
Pregnancies that will miscarry and ectopic (tubal) pregnancies are likely to show lower levels and slower rises, but often have normal levels initially. Sometimes it takes three or more HCG levels at least 48 hours apart to get an idea how a pregnancy is progressing.
they are supposed to double in 72 hours - not 48.
I had simular Hcg results when i was pregnant my levels tripled once then only went up 66% then started dropping. I miscarried at about 6 weeks. did they do a progesterone level on you? I would certainly make them draw one which was my problem by the time they listened to me my progesterone level was 3.5 which it should have been 20 and it was too late.
I hope everything will be ok. My husband and I have been TTC for about two years now...it is a long hard road. This is the first time we have actually gotten pregnant, so I really hope it goes through.
Well..its hard to say at this point but they suppose to double..Yours is not doubling as it should but there is still hope, I knew one girl who had the same thing and everything was good! So hang in there!
