baby is breech

so had a scan today and my son is breech. What are the chances of him staying like this I'm 27 weeks. I have another scan in 4 weeks but they said he might not turn cause of the shape of my uterus. I'm really scared to have a c-section can anyone tell me what it is like

ok thanks well I'm hoping he will turn on his own but the doctors think the shape if my uterus will stop him turning so fingers crossed he will turn now before he gets to big

From personal experiance and having a super low pain tolerance the version does not hurt. It is a little uncomfortable but it takes all of 10 minutes. I remember being so scared it would hurt and thinking afterword "really that was it?! What was the big fuss?!"

I agree with the ladies. You are only 27 weeks and he still has time to flip around. If he doesn't try asking the doc if they can turn him before you go into labor. This hurts really bad and there is always a chance that he could return to the breech position. But good luck to you and no matter how he comes into the world it won't matter once you hold your little guy!

Honestly I wouldn't even worry until about 36 weeks since he's still so tiny he can flip every which way. Also if he ends up being breech by 38 weeks they can do an external version. My first was breech and I refused to do a c-section. Had a version and they flipped her head down and I gave birth vaginally 3 days later.

I'm not sure because you said your uterus is shaped differently but there are certain stretches and positions your can try each day in order to help your baby move into the head down position. I'm not sure what exactly they are but I remember reading in some of my labour books that I read, that they do exist! you still have some time for baby to shift! Sooner the better though- once they get too big, then they are there for good.

I cant actually comment on the shape of your uterus because they seem to think this will be a factor preventing him from changing positions..

I can comment in general though.  You are very early and definitely have time to shift..  WHen I was 30 weeks pregnant, my baby was transverse and I spent all this time reading online about how it can mean there is something wrong if the baby is still in a transverse position at 30 weeks,etc... I started trying to prepare myself for a c-section, etc....  I ended up in the hospital at 31 weeks because my cervix was prematurely too short.. Because of this they did an extra ultrasound...    This was 6 days down the raod from when I was told the baby was still transverse.. and the baby had moved heads down and had dropped so things can change very fast...

I remember reading someone else being breech around 31 weeks and less than a week later was heads down...
