bad news...?

Hello ladies, today I had a doctors appointment and I am almost at 37 weeks I got ny results back for the strep B test.. I'm positive for the bacteria my doc reassured me its a natural bacteria, and I will be given pennecillin when I go into labor but I'm so worried that if I go into labor and don't go to the hospital on time that my baby will come out blind or something=\ I'm horrified I feel close to labor however I don wanna go to the hospital everytime i think I'm going into labor:( did anyone else get positive results? If yes how did u deal with it?!

I wouldn't say to not worry nothing will happen to your baby because even if 8 other women had it went into labor had their water break and what not and their babies are fine, don't base your caution on that, treat it like every single baby has something wrong. I know that sounds harsh but I'd hate for something to happen to you or baby. However I will tell you don't worry about the whole going into.labor and not making it. As soon as you go into labor leave for the hospital ASAP! Then as soon as you get in there just tell them that you have this bacteria.

I tested positive when I was preggo with my daughter who is now 6.i was induced so they had enough time to give the medicibe to me but it didnt hurt me either.dont sress it,cuz u neva know how labor and delivery are gonna go.i think I tested positive this time too and im sure they will find a way to make sure the baby is healthy...good luck hun

Yes there's nothing to worry you'll see and yes its given through your IV mine didn't burn it gave me chills because I think they had it in the fridge people like to scare you I was more scare of the birth process but know I'm not so scared I'm on baby #3 lol

How do they give it to u?? Through iv?

Yes ur baby will be fine my oldest is 13 and I tested pos with her but dam that penicillun burns like a mug

I guess my aunt just really scared me=\ she is my first and my doctor didn't seem worried, I just want them to start me on the antibiotic in time.. I'm just wondering how it all works as far as her being born and the antibiotic helping

I get positive and I wasn't worried nothing happens to my son who is now three and my water broke @ 1:30pm and I didn't go to the doctor until 2:00am and he is perfectly fine I'm guessing this is your first and don't worry you and your baby will be fine
