I have a bearded dragon I feed him and all that just wash your hands.. after handling them and after shaking hands with people and you will be ok
And The fact it came off side of road... There's probably a reason someone didn't want it.
Thanks, everyone. Im not planning on touching it. But The people I work did touch it & hold it & I dont think they wash their hands. So I'm concerned about touching things they have touched. And its in an open topped containor. And To me it didn't look healthy, infected toe, skin sores?, stubby tail...just s ares me..
Erum??? Quit?? I have one, u can go near it you can look at it but dont handle it... i wish i could hold mine but your right about the diseases.. only if you handle it.. there very sweet and gentle creatures just so you know for after the lil one comes =]
I have a beardie. There's really no need to quit your job that's a little extreme! Just don't handle it!! It's not airborne diseases.
I wouldnt go near it if it was found on the side of the road. I have a pet one from a pet store and handle him all the time. Im 38+ weeks and have had no problems. But coming from the pet store I know hes ok and disease free. Good luck.
I think I'd quit just to get away from the lizard.
Hygiene is essential. Washing hands often with antibacterial soap. Salmonella can be passed by any reptile by touching their skin.
I don't think that this is a huge risk but I would be freaked out enough to find another job.
Just don't handle it just like with cats. My neice tried giving my husband ine. My mother's in law is holding in to it until we get a home with a bassinet and the babies a bit older
