i'm about 4-5 weeks pregnant, didn't go to a doctor yet, and i think i'm showing..i'm average weight, and i gave birth to a baby boy seven months ago, since then i had a great appetite and i've gained few kilograms..i'm not over weight...and i think my belly got bigger over the few weeks, i googled it and lots of women say that with second pregnancy their clothes started being tight from 4,5, or 6 weeks, and that jeans wouldn't fit them anymore... i didn't think i'd start showing so early? :/ i'm not bloated.. and i don't think its because i eat a lot.. (i actually didn't eat loads for about a week, because of nausea)
is anyone else here, second time pregnant and showing early?
could it be twins? (i haven't went to doctor yet, so no ultrasound or heartbeat)
and my breasts are bigger aswell, just about fit into my bra :/ with my first pregnancy my breasts didn't get bigger at all...
and i showed my belly to my fiance and he said i must be more than 4-5 weeks looking at my belly :/
If you're only 4-5 weeks, your baby is still just a group of cells. Therefore, whether you feel it is or not, it is just bloat. The other girls were bloating as well making their clothes feel tighter early. Your baby isn't big enough for it to be causing the belly.
you have more than one kid? i just read a LOT, and a lot of second time moms show earlier.. and i'm not bloated,my belly is not hard..not hard at all, and if i was bloated wouldn't that go away? it doesn't..
Lol yes they do show earlier. Earlier than 1st time moms. Meaning around 12 weeks or so you may get a little bump. The fact that it's not hard just proves my point. Point is. Your baby is too tiny at 2 weeks post conception to be causing you to show. Make a Dr appt though BC if you really feel you are showing, you could be having twins or be further along.
Also, at 5 weeks the baby is 1/20 of an inch. Def not causing a belly. You said you've been eating more and have gained some weight. If it were baby, belly would be hard. I'm sorry, but you're most likely not showing unless you're much farther along than you anticipated.
This is my second. And yes second moms do bloat too same with first moms and bloat don't have to be hard I looked like I was 3 months prego when I was just about 4-6 weeks but it stayed like that and just got harder as the baby grows. And now ima bout to be 7 months on Tuesday looking like ima bout to pop. And my stomach started showing around 3 months. So it's just bloat right now.
how does not having a hard belly proves that i'm bloated, and answer me, are you first time or second time pregnant..cause i just want to hear from second time moms who went through this, not someone guessing it
and i would love twins :) especially identical :))can't wait for the doc appointment next week
Its like when your on your period and you barley start and your bloating! Your stomach don't just get hard it just sticks out a lil more! You can't be showing at 4-5 weeks as @summergurley is saying the baby is to small for you to be showing right now. Ima a second time mom. Actually was pregnant 3 times but this is my second child.
no need to be rude, your hormones are a bit too much for you? i've got loads of books, and i read a lot when i was pregnant with my first, and reading a lot now, i posted this question in hope that i WAS showing, so that i don't have to tuck my belly and feel fat :( and - the pregnancy belly doesn't go hard untill a bit later...
Ya I'm startin to show also and this is my second baby ....so weird because with my son i didnt show till 6 months and this time im only 6 1/2 weeks jaja luckly my cloths still fit but its pretty noticeable so no keeping it a secret till 12 weeks lol
I did not say you were uneducated. I am just trying to answer your question the same Ariel was. You said you've been reading but reading would tell you that yes, 2nd time moms show earlier, but no, an embryo thats 1/20 of an inch is not going to cause you to show. I'm done arguing about it though. You asked a qusstion, we tried to answer it for you. But you're only reading what you want to hear. So I'm done.
I'm on my third pregnancy.. I've never made it out of first ttrimester until this baby. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow. Idk what time mother u would count me as. I have angel babies but no living. But at 4 weeks I was huge. People said twins I was thinking my last period was a fluke period and maybe I was further along. Well I got to six weeks and my belly wasn't soo round leading me to believe it was just me bloating. My belly has slowly gotten bigger and more pregnant looking the last month. :)
At 5 weeks, your baby is roughly the size of a seseme seed, so I would think it highly unlikely for you to be showing at 5w, without it being bloating.
One of the most common reasons why the tummy grows more quickly in second or third (etc) pregnancies is a lack of muscle tone in the abdomen. After having one or more babies, the muscle strength does not return to what it was when the first pregnancy occurs. There is also the age factor to take into consideration. The older the expectant mother, the less muscle tone she may have in the abdomen. If the abdomen muscles are not strong enough, the bloating caused by progesterone will simply look larger than it would in other cases. The stronger the abdominal muscles are, the more apt they are to hold in that pregnancy bloat.
I read a lot too, but not from google, that's like diagnosis bingo tbh, I read researched facts and information, having access to unlimited nursing and medical journals from working as a qualified healthcare professional x
@mommypaws I'm a third time mom n I'm exactly the same weeks as u and I have a great appetite with no sickness ( thank God) but I'm not showing not even my husband that I stay naked on front knows that I'm pregnant so as everybody told u yes it's bloated in my 2nd pregnancy with twins I didn't start showing till I was about 4 months going on 5 so even with twins u can't b showing that early
If you are a second time mom then you could be showing already,, especially if you are skinny. You uterus doesn't shrink back to it's tiny size after having a baby. The uterus is stretched out from having a baby already so that's why you show earlier in the second pregnancy. I got huge with my first baby but only gained 25 pounds. I'm 21 weeks 3 days and I've only gained 3 pounds, but i started showing at 7-8 weeks. The top of my belly was hard and the lower part of my belly wasn't, so I was confused and thought i was just fat. But no, it was baby. Just because everyone else doesn't show super early doesn't mean that it's not possible. Everyone is different. We are all hormone crazed whether people want to admit it or not. I gave you an example from my own personal experience so I know it's true. I also had the doctor measure my belly and they confirmed it as well.
This is my third pregnancy, i am 12 weeks and 3 days and just started showing last week. Your uterus doesnt even move up and out from behind your pelvic bone until weeks 10-12. I was bloated at weeks 8 and 9 but then it went down and now i can feel my uterus so i know i am now showing.
Your baby (if at the 5 weeks you believe you are) is way too small for you to be showing. Yes 2nd time moms show sooner but at maybe 10 weeks the second time instead of five months like the first time. Bloating is very common and it can make it seem like you are showing but it's truly not possible even with twins. You should see a prenatal doctor soon to make sure how far along you are.
