It can be normal to spot during pregnancy, but period like bleeding is usually signs of a possible miscarriage. Although a miscarriage is not for sure, it is possible with these symptoms. You need to see your OBGYN as soon as possible.
it is very normal to have some spotting during pregnancy as long as its not heavy or bright red blood..you have any pain along with your bleeding? when i had my MC..it started with few brown spots..then pink then after couple of days bright red...for me any spotting during pregnancy is a concern...call up your doc and ask them to do an ultrasound and HCG just to be at the safe side...Dont wait...
If your bleeding and it's similar or heavier than the flow of your period this ISN'T normal, spotting...brown/pinkish LIGHT bleeding at this stage can just be normal. I wouldn't even wait to get a Doc appointment as they'll only probably refer you to hospital anyway, I'd take yourself to casualty to find out what's going on. Good luck xx
Anytime you bled in pregnancy it has a 50-50 chance of continuing normally. My first pregnancy I only spotted pink and it ended in miscarriage and then my next pregnancy I started bleeding worse than a period, bright red for 5 weeks and now have a healthy 2 year old daughter. You need to contact your doctor ASAP and let them know what is happening. Because you are still so early they probably will not be able to tell you much but they will be able to say if your cervix is open and checked your blood count. Then in 48-72 hours they should recheck it to see if it doubled. Best of luck I hope everything works out for you.
I woke up yesterday morning bleeding and I found out I'm 5 wks pregnant but today I'm still bleeding and its dark red and heavy like a period I'm having cramps but not bad ones and I've seen no blood clots
this is an old post youll probably have more luck getting responses with a new post. i had a miscarriage at 5 weeks before and it sounds like what you are going through. 5 weeks is very early so i didnt really have any cramps either. it was just like a normal period but lasted for 10 days. i also had no clots. if you have a home test i would take it. by the time you bleed if its from a miscarriage youre levels are pretty much gone. sorry what youre going through.
Same situation. I took a hpt on the day I missed my period. It was a faint positive. My boyfriend and I are still at college so we were scared. He wanted me to take another hpt just to be sure. After 5 days, I took the hpt and it was negative. 2 days after I had severe back pain, brown discharge, then bright red period like bleeding.
I'm supposed to be 5 weeks. I think I lost my baby. It's depressing.
