blighted ovum?

I am almost 8 weeks i went for an u/s at 7 weeks and 2 days, i had a perfectly round pregancy sac and yolk sac, but there was no baby or no heartbeat.... do i have a blighted ovum, could the baby be hiding, what should i do?

I was just at the Er with vaginal bleeding. i am currently 7 wks pregnant. they.did all these test then the Dr came in and said that i was behind A week and i.was 6 wks pregnant. then she came back in and said i had a.blighten ovum. Im so.confused..the u/s said 6 wks now i have a blighten ovum. help me any.one deal with this before???? The Dr pretty Msuch told me there could be.no pregression. but yet she said prior everything looks good in my u/s

I just wanted to add that I too have suffered from a blighted ovum in January, but there was never anything but a gest sac. With this pregnancy(currently 24 weeks) I had 3 ultrasounds before anything was seen. The first was about 5.5 weeks, the second 6 weeks, and finally the third at 8 weeks 4 days showed the baby, they also put me ahead 4 days with that ultrasound so according to that one I was 9 weeks.  Get the doctors to check your hcgs too. I dont know why they wouldnt be? But that on its own I found was alittle bit of reassurance. Good Luck.

heather~ I hate how doctors are... they're always so negative and fast to say that a pregnancy is not going to continue.

I had an ultrasound at about 5 1/2w, which would've been 6 1/2-7w by the doctors estimate from my last period... and we saw only a small sac. but just over a week later I had another ultrasound and we saw baby, and a heartbeat and all. I'm now 30 weeks with a healthy baby boy!

upon information i have gathered a blighted ovum diagnosis cannot be made if there is a yolk sac

they scheduled another one tuesday, and yes i could be off on my dates... but the doctors are being real negative, so im freaking out. they said things arent looking too well. i mean according to the doctors i was 7w and 2d, is it possible not to see the baby until around 8 weeks??

Could your dates be off? Even by a couple days? I have also experienced 2 blighted ovums, and I don't think I had a yolk sac with either (I KNOW I didn't with the second... with the first it has been too long for me to remember) ... Also in the begining of this pregnancy I had 2 u/s right around 6 and 6.5 weeks that showed NOTHING but a gestational sac, I am now currently 20 weeks! Hang in there... the yolk sac is a good sign... are they testing your HCG levels?? If they double every 48 hours thats also a good sign that the pregnancy would be progressing normally. Have they scheduled another u/s?

wait a little longer,, my first pregnancy ended in a blighted ovum but i had no yolk sac.
