braxton hicks contractions

i was wondering if anyone is having braxton hicks contractions yet?? and how early did you feel them? i am 24 weeks and i noticed the first one at like 22 weeks.  they say they usually start around 6 months but can be earlier.

the first one i remember feeling, i thought the baby was all balled up in the middle of my abdomen and it was very hard. i even had my husband feel it. then it just flattened out all of the sudden. when i told my mother the next day she said that must have been braxton hicks. so then i read about it and i think it was.

well, i've been feeling them like every other day or every three days and i was just wondering if thats normal or too much or ??????  and if anyone else is feeling them yet.  i had one this weekend that was pretty uncomfortable and actually made my lower back hurt as well - like my whole bottom half was tensed up and contracting.......very weird - especially since this is my first and i'm not used to any of this.

thanks ladies!!

You may feel an occasional one regardless of your activity or hydration level.   When you start noticing them a few times a day or so....drink more and change your activity.  If you've been really active...rest awhile....or vice versa.  That should relieve them.  If they start to get painful or you feel pressure towards the area of your cervix I would mention it to your doctor.

this is my first - and thats why i'm really not sure if what i'm feeling is normal or not. but especially this early i didnt think i should have them every other day or every three days or so.....i do notice that when i'm tired or have been very active that day, i usually feel them that night, so maybe it's the dehydration.  but the other morning i woke up with one, so that was weird.

thanks for the info!

Is this a first or subsequent pregnancy?

It's normal to feel a few...as long as they aren't crampy feeling or painful.  Try increase your clear fluid intake...water, 100% juice, tea, etc.  Not sports drinks.  You could be mildly dehydrated and that can cause BH to increase.

Well, I felt my first at 28 weeks, but not too many.  I am now 37 week and feel them all the time, but they are painless.  Just a hard tummy.
I do not know forsure, but I don;t belive you should be feeling any pain in your back or anywhere.....
I would ask your doctor.
