breach baby

Just had my appointment this morning.  I am 26w and 2d, my doctor scans me every month and the baby has been in a breach position for the last two months.  The doc says we'll have to keep an eye on it, but that there is plenty of time left for him to turn.  This is my third child and both of the previous ones have been in the correct position from the time I was 5 months on.  Have any of you gone through this?  Doctor also said that if it doesn't turn before delivery, he can try to manually turn the baby.  I have heard that this is very painful.

i hope so that makes me feel a lot better, i am still hoping he turns on his own though LOL.  I have had odd pains like that too, they come and go though i never really thought about what they could be from and it didn't worry me to much b/c it didn't stay painfull it was just quick sharp pains.

I wouldn't be too worried about the baby being breech. From my experiance the doctor told me that most babies will turn before 36 weeks and only about 3% of all babies stay in the breech position past 38 weeks. If your baby does choose to stay in the breech position they'll give you two options either get a c-section or have a version which is where they turn the baby. I also read a lot of things online about how painful it was supposed to be and honestly even with no meds it wasn't that bad. A little pressure but they just massage in circles and get the baby to want to turn away from the pressure so that it turns on its own. They don't actually take the baby and flip it. Good luck to both of you I'm sure everything will turn out fine! :)

I posted a question this last weekend about sharp pains in the top of my stomach.  The doc said it is due to the baby being breech and where the head is, right in between my ribs, most like ripped a muscle.  He said the muscle should most likely grow back together normally after the baby is born.  I hope so!!

I never been though this, but there is a member on there that was were you are and she did end up having the baby turn. Her member name is Alaysha. I tryed to look up her post but could only Find this one, after she had it done. Good Luck :o)

I went in to get the baby turned today. The doctor that did it was amazing! Not only did he not need to give me the medication to stop contractions but he was so nice the whole time and calm that I felt no pain. A little discomfort at times but nothing worse than when she stretches. It only took about 10 minutes to turn her and afterwords they monitered me and said that she looks good and healthy and that most likely she wont move out of that position. So I just wanted to reassure anyone who's baby is breech that if you do end up having to get them turned it actually isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But I suppose I could of just had an unusually good experiance. :)

i am in the same situation.  I had my last ultrasound at 20 weeks and was told the baby was breeched, i have another scan next week at 25 weeks and i am praying that he turned around on his own, although i have a feeling that he hasn't.  most of the movement i feel is very low, and my baby is a kicker.....so i assume b/c i feel his kicks so low that he is still breeched.  i am scared to death to have the baby manually turned....i did some reading about it online and it looks VERY painfull and doesn't always work.  I also heard that there is an acupuncture point in your little toe that can turn a breech baby, i would much rather try that if i had to, looks way less painful and I HATE having my feet touched but i would do it if i had to.  Let me know if you hear of any others ways or if your baby turns around.
