i had a section just over 11 weeks ago and had an epidural. Putting the drip lines in were the things that hurt the most but as for the epi it was fine, i had no complications and with my size i was concerend they wouldnt be able to do it. as for the spinal block i dont know what that one is
OK so I have had both an epi and a spinal. An epi is when they put a catheter into the spinal canal and give a constant drip of medication with a possible bolus of drugs as needed. A spinal is when they put just a bolus of meds into the spinal canal with a needle and then remove the needle with nothing left. At my hospital scheduled c sections get spinals because there are less risks or complications with it. My first c section was an emergency and the epi was already in place so they uses that. They both seemed to work the same. Its not like I felt more with one or the other. Either is just fine in my opinion.
Hahah, you're right, you shouldn't have, I had one with my son, it LOOKS terrible, I could never watch one, but it's really not that bad, I recovered very quickly, about a week and a half, make sure you don't overdo it, and you walk as soon as you can, and don't baby yourself, you'll be fine! :)
I had my 4th c-section 5 weeks ago...its not really all that bad hun! You will have to be careful for a while, but rest as much as u can.
I've had both an epi n a spinal..I prefer the spinal..it wore off quicker so I wasn't numb for hours...plus with the epi, I had the itchies bad after it wore off!! Felt like clawing my skin, it itched so bad.!( normal for ur skin to itch after)..I itched with the spinal too, but not near as bad!
I think most likely theyll do a spinal cuz its scheduled.. Ive had back surgery so I know I can do it.. although the back surgery I was knocked out cold and on morphine for a good 2 days after but I was up walking the next morning.. but the thought of it still scares the crap out of me lol plus with this surgery ill have my baby girl to take care of on top of the healing process but thankfully I have lots of family and my hubby to help me out when I come home
thank you ladies for your input!! I feel a lot better
