Certain amounts of caffeine are safe during pregnancy, just as many above have said.  I have drank caffeine with all my pregnancies and all 6 of my kids are healthy.  1 can will def not hurt anything.  As Clysta said, 300 mgs are considered safe and a can of soda has only like 40 something mgs.  Well under the 300 mgs....

I drank a can of Mt. Dew every day while pregnant. I still drink it occasionally and I'm breastfeeding.

I cant stay away from caffeine either! its bad but i have drank it with all of my pregnancies as well and my babies are healthy. Try caffeine free coke. It tastes exactly the same and it doesnt have that nasty diet taste. And i put them in the freezer and let them get really cold like almost slushy mmmmm that sounds good! lol

My doctor also said up to 300 mg a day, a 12 oz can of pepsi is only around 40mg.  It's true soda has no nutritional value and is loaded with sugar but recent studies show you will get the same amount of hydration from a can of soda as a glass of water the same size, it does not dehydrate you.  That being said I still drink my 64 oz of water a day but I don't feel bad if I have a soda here or there.  As long as you consume reasonable amounts of caffeine (less than 300mg) there is no problem.  You start having heart problems when you have too much caffeine.  So no energy drinks :)

It does the same thing to the unborn child it does to the parent.... I drank soda with my first child, but with this pregnancy I quit fully drinking soda, tea and coffee at 24 weeks... Caffiene is bad for expecting mothers heart and babies heart.

The main issue with soda probably isnt the caffeine.. there is not that much caffeine in a soda...  the issue with the soda is it has no nutritional value, dehydrates your body, and is loaded with sugar...  many people drink soda in pregnancy and have no issues..

I love coffee, and tried to give it up during my pregnancy.  But, had terrible headaches so I would just have one cup in the morning.   My son is now 8 months old and perfect.  Doctor said just to try to stick to one per day :)

I will say that I am a BIG soda drinker. I have drank it with all of pregnancies, I have 3 healthy children and one on the way. My OB has NEVER once said anything to me about it.

You can have up to 300mg of caffine a day. It generally will do the same to a baby it does to an adult. Too much in general is bad for anyone (can kill you if you consume too much) but a can a day isn't going to do anything.
