Not only can they live at 29 weeks they have an excellent chance. My twins were born at 26 weeks(barely) weighing 1 lb 9 ounces and 1 lb 11 ounces, at 26 weeks they had a 65% chance of survival at 28 weeks there odds are about 90% or more. My twins are now busy toddlers, they have had no lasting problems from their prematurity.....best of luck!!!!
I am not sure about twins but my SIL just gave birth June 2 at 29 weeks. He was born 2lbs 10oz. He is not home yet but he is doing well and almost 6lbs. So anything is possible. Bless you and your family.
It has happend. There is a woman on this site that had her little boy at 24 weeks and he survived and actually just came home. I am sure it is possible and I think that the doctor should know best. I would ask a lot of questions before making a decision. I want to wish your daughter all the best,.
Also I didnt think that a half pound difference is that major I thought it was pretty common with multiples. What are the weights if you dont mind me asking?
I don't know the answer to your question... I am sure that there have been babies that have survived, but without knowing the condition of the babies, I would listen to the doctor. He/she knows the situation and what is exactly going on... good luck and I wish your daughter all the best.
