Castor oil is a laxative and unless you're on top of your fluid intake, it has a great potential to cause dehydration. Dehydration has been linked to babies having their first bowel movement in utero. So if the castor oil causes you to have diarrhea and vomiting and you can't replace the fluids lost quick and efficiently enough, it can cause meconiun aspiration.
The thing about tryn to induce yourself us that too many people with opinions. Its been used for years, worked for some, caused problems for some its just a chance it might work ( which it did for my sis) and a chance it wont. No matter what you do to induce your labor there is always risk.
Im curious about taking this also. I just dont want diarrhea. Lol....let us know what happens. Ive been taking evening primrose oil to help soften my cervix so im hoping that is helping (im 37.5 weeks).
