oh yeah I think after hearing a heartbeat at 10 weeks you're probably in the free and clear.....only reason I'm freaking out is I'm a high risk pregnancy had triplets and lost one so now just twins...

so... now that i've heard the heartbeat in the 10th week (and it was strong)..my chances have already dropped? I will  be 12 weeks next monday. I am afraid of having a mc! or that i've had one and dont know it yet! I dont go back to the doctor until feb 11th.

The way my OB explained it to me is that before you hear the heartbeat and before you hit 12 weeks, the chance of MC is 25%. Once you hear the HB, it goes down to something like 15% and once you hit 12 weeks, it goes down to 3%. Once you hit 15 weeks, your chance of MC is about 1%.

From my understanding, a missed MC is when you miscarry without any bleeding or cramping.

your chances drop when you hear a heartbeat and your chances of MC carriage completely drop when your out of your qst trimester with a heartbeat.

A missed miscarriage and when the baby stops growing and heart stops beating but your body does njot push it out like it is supposerd to.  your body thinks the baby is still alive so you do not have any signs of a miscarriage until the doctor does not hear a heartbeat.  I had one back in oct 07.
