Contractions suck, i have 3 babys and one on the way and i have used the epidural all three times and plan on using it again. I dont have very high pain tolerance but my sister did it alll natural she was a champ! But dont be scared, it may be the worst pain youll ever feel in your life but its the easiest and quickest pain to forget! Good luck!

it depends on your pqin threshold and how well you cope with pain.    I had back labour so didn't feel anything up in front, but although it was painful it wasn't unbearably painful x
