contractions?

I'm 38 weeks and 6 days. And I was just wondering is anyone else Is afraid that they won't know if they're having (real) contractions. I'm a first time mother. I have a high pain tolerance so it just kinda worrys me

Yeah everyone has been telling me you will know when you are having contractions!

Hi there.  Well, I'll be honest.  Those contractions are pretty unmistakable.  And when birth gets near . . .   it hurts!!  I thought I had a high pain tolerance too but found that this was not really the case!  I had to have an epidural to get through it!!  They start out like rhythmic tightening but then they get painful.  Ever have a really super bad stomach bug that causes pains?  it's kind of like that.  I think you'll feel them hon.  I don't think you'll need to worry about that.  :>)  Good luck with everything!
