It offends me when moms want to have their babies at 32- 36 weeks without any medical reasons other than they don't want to be pregnant.
I get that it can be painful, i get that its tiresome, i get all of that. But seriously, why can't some people put the needs of these babies before theirs?
My cousin took castor oil at 32 weeks and went into labor like a day later. The baby suffered from distress. It pissed me off because she said she did it because she was tired of being pregnant... .. Ugh what if he wasn't ready?
**I am in no way talking about moms with valid /medical reasons to have their babies early so please don't start getting angry. I'm only talking about those who risk their babies lives simply because they want them out. I don't understand them.

My sister had her baby at 23 weeks. Scariest thing ever! Against the odds she survived. My sister in law and coworker had their boys only 6 weeks early. One was 6lb and pretty healthy for being early. The other 4 lb and had to stay in the hospital for awhile. I don't really like hearing ppl wanting their babies early "to get it over with" its hard when you have seen babies that may not make it. I'm 22 wks and have been having back pain since 16 weeks. But I will wait as long as I can (may have to have another csection and hope they will do it as late as possible.)

I surely hope so! it's weird though, b/c I had one doctor do my LEEP procedure, and the GYN I was seeing before my OB did the Cryotherapy (freezing) procedure on a SMALL part of my cervix..

my point is, my family doctor, the one who did the LEEP, and my current GYN.. out of THREE doctors -- no one has ever ever ever said my cervix was small, short, nothing!

then, my first appointment with my OB she tells me she's not sure about it, so she wants me to see this specialist to see if the stitch, progesterone, or a "wait & see" option would be best for my cervix b/c it seems small/short... like WTH did no one ever tell me this before?! lol so I'm frustrated, but I'm glad I'm getting it looked at next month!

African american girls have the highest survival rate. No reason why. The earliest to live was born at 23 weeks she was an African american girl. Its an interesting story I read alot. She was tiny

I read that too. Plus the NICU nurses told me that when my son was in there. That girls are stronger than boys and tend to do well after birth when born early. They also said African American babies tend to do better when born early. So idk about all that but. I read it too.

Boys develop slower than girls. I read a study on it. The drs didn't know why but the results were that girls survive more often than boys. I found it interesting.

Octobermommy they caught it early for you dont worry too much you should be fine. I found out at 17 weeks they put me in surgery by the end of the week and I've been doing good so far. Im on bedrest but luckily my cervix is still ok. They said I may need med if it shortens too much but so far so good. Also the surgery was easy for me. I was scared but I didn't hurt and wasnt sore after. Goodluck take it easy :) and I get pregnancy can be awful at times but im keeping my baby in as long as I possibly can. I wish I were able to walk more jus for healthier reasons but it can induce labor so no walking for me lol.

I had my son at 36 weeks and he was in the nicu for 3 weeks with tubes and monitors so I know what you mean. Sometimes 36 weeks is still too early. I wish I could have carried him full term as well.

I go through that too. The heartburn and vomiting in your sleep. I just had that happen really bad last night, but I'm only 32 weeks. So that's why I'm saying for the pregnant ladies who does not care that 30 weeks is just way to early to be trying to induce yourself without real medical reason, that's just wrong. But in your case, you are basically full term. I still wouldn't do it myself, but you aren't harming your baby if you try to have him/get at 39 weeks.

I agree 100%! As someone who had my son at 35 weeks and had to leave him in NICU while I was discharged I absolutely can't stand when women want to deliver early for no reason other than they are miserable. I would've have done anything to keep him in until full term it was heartbreaking to see him with all the monitors and iv and everything.

im 39 weeks and I agree to a certain extent. Everyone has a different experience and idk about anyone else but the end is the worse . it takes a toll physically and I am sorry but I'm trying to get her out..lol.. i can barely walk...heartburn so bad that I'm choking on my own vomit in my sleep... baby so low and heavy on my bladder that it's hurts too bad to pee... all of those r considered normal but for me personally I'm not tolerating well. and I'm willing to try to get her out.. As long as you wait until full termand Dr says it's fine then ur fine...

I'm waiting impatiently. It is hard to wait. I'm 36 weeks, and in severe pain with kidney stones. I want my baby to be "fully cooked" when he arrives, though. I also don't want to have surgery while pregnant, but it is an option I can consider after he is born. I want him to come so badly so I can hold him and my pain can end, but I'm not doing anything to get him to come faster.

I've also been told I have a short/small cervix.. seeing a specialist on May 6th.. and I'm currently 11w2d.

I'm praying to hold this baby in as LONG as God allows me to, so yeah.. I don't get it either. I pray every night that not only does my cervix not fail me before I can even get to see the specialist, but I'm praying that he/she gives me good news & I can prevent preterm labor or anything!

Im with you there! I told my hubby that if our little guy doesnt want to come out at 40 weeks im totally fine with that. He can cook as long as he needs to :)

I agree completely. Anyone who's too impatient to wait until their child is ready to be born and decides to try to rush birth for their own convenience instead of being concerned for the health and safety of their own baby... is probably too impatient to raise a kid in the first place. I can only imagine what they'll do to hurry up the process of getting out the door in the morning when they've got a three-year-old who wants to assert their independence. Good luck with that, is all I can say.
