Look up the bradley method. He has positions and how to breathe. The classes are pricey so i've been reading his book.

Hi:) I definitely agree that you can plan and prepare but when push comes to shove (literally) lol you may change ur mind and want the epidural. There is a certain point where there is no turning back and if I remember wth my first it's at like 7 or 8cm dilated I believe. Since I'm not certain definitely ask your doctor at what point is it too late to get the epidural. I'm pregnant with my second and looking to go med free with this one. I didn't like being so numb and feeling like I had no control over my lower body with my first. Some ppl tell me oh u better take classes but us women were given what we need to birth a baby without epidurals or classes! It's a personal choice but remember, ur body was made for this and many women have done it! However I do read about Jay breathing, and different positions to use while in labor to help ease the pain. You can Google or YouTube video all those things. Watch a few water birth and natural hospital birth videos too. Makes u feel like if she can do it I can ya know! Hope this helps and best of luck to you! ♡♡♡

If you plan for a natural birth and change your mind your doctor isn't going to say no, they're there to make you as happy and comfortable as possible, hopefully! But there is a point in labor where interventions such as an epidural are no longer an option so I would just talk to your doctor about the different forms of pain management and ask at what point they are taken off of the table!

If your past a 7 or an 8 they won't let you because that's what happened with my first. I started screaming for it and I couldn't get it because it was too late.

Planning and actually doing it all natural are 2 different things for sure. Nothing can prepare you for the pain at all. I didn't have an epidural with my first but don't feel like you've failed yourself by getting one! I'm considering getting an epidural this time just so I can enjoy the anticipation of the new baby coming!  :) either choice you make is good choice ;)
