delivery times

Is it true that with every pregnancy the baby gets bigger and the labor time shortens.  if this is true I am afraid ill have my baby in the car.  My last labor happened for a full hour and she was 7lbs15oz.

In my case

baby1 3 1/2 hrs 8lbs 4oz
#2 about an hour 8lbs 14oz
#3 about an hour 8lbs 12oz
#4 about an hour 8lbs 6oz

so for me weight varied, but other than the first all my births were pretty quick.   I think it is true that it all depends on your body at the time as well.  Hopefully it will be short for you this time around too.  Good luck

Well I can't really answer about the size o f babies because both mine were early and in the 5lb range...  But labor does get faster...

First labor = 36 minutes
Second Labor = 20 minutes
They've told me this labor should go in under 10 minutes!

It is actually said that the more babies you have the smaller they get, I don't know if that is just a myth or not, but It has been true for me so far, we will have to see when Conner comes if it's true or not lol. Labor does generally last shorter with reoccuring pregnancies. My daughter I was in labor with for 72 hours, My oldest son lasted 12-14 hours and my youngest son was only about 1 hour and 45 min.

Im hoping this labor goes just as fast as my last lol The least amount of pain there is, the better lol.

Nope not at all! Every pregnancy is different. Your 7th child may take longer then your 1st to be born! Its just an old wives tale. Some women would probably say that labor was shorter with the second child but its not because it is made to be that way...It may not be as long to have your baby this time around but it may be longer too. Hopefully in your case it will be around the same time lol. I bet lots of women wish their labor was an hour...

Not in my case I went from a 7 1/2 pounder to a 6 pounder! Good luck to you! At least your labor was short, can't ask for anything better than that!
