depo / pregnancy

Hi, I was on the dopo shot for almost a year and have been off of it for well October will be nine months. I finally got a period in July and again in August on time, but September I did not have one. I took a pregnanct test after my period was four days over due and it was negative. I still have not had a priod for Sepyember. Is this normal effects from the depo or could I be pregnant?

I was on the Depo shot for 11years, the day I had my son.  I broke my wrist last year, and found out it was due to low done density, osteopenia.
So I stopped taking it April 2007, got my regular menstrual cycle back November- December 2007 ( 8 months later), and now I am 23 weeks pregnant.  I got pregnant exactly one year from being off the shot...April 2008!!
There were some spotting that I guess now I can consider getting my period...I had a good period flow for about 2 months, and then didn't have one for 2 months, just spotting, had another period, nothing consistant with a cycle though....then got pregnant.

This is normal from people who have been on depo. I was on depo for 8 years.I didn't get regular periods until about a year afterward.

Had the same problem with the depo, I was on it for 9 months and when i stopped it totally screwed up my cycles..... took me forever to get them back and then they were irregular for about 4 months...... so it def sounds like a normal side effect of the shot

I hate that shot.  I took it ONE time an didn't have a period for 10 months!  Take VITEX it will fix the problem an its safe.

I've had a similar experience with depo. I got my last shot in March of 08. My period didn't return until June 08. June was a regular period but July and August came and no periods at all! I took multiple test thinking I was pregnant! Turns out I wasn't of course. My period returned in September! Crazy Depo! I think depo was great but it definitely throws you body completely off! Just in case though, keep an eye out for symptoms and stay away from smoking and alcohol, but I wouldn't stress too much!
Good Luck

I would take another test in a few weeks with first mornng urine. I am 38 weeks pregnant with a depo baby lol. Coming off birth control effects everyone differently, so your periods could still be trying to regulate.
