diaper poll...need advice from moms

I know Joy did this awhile ago but I thought I'd ask again...What brands of diapers have you used and LIKED...please only give name brands that I'd be able to find anywhere...My mom wanted to start buying diapers and asked what kind I wanted AND as a first time mom, I have NO idea!

So...what diapers do you like and why?  Or What diapers do you hate and why?

After just posting a question about this a week or so ago, I can tell you...I will stick with my Huggies Supremes!
We broke down and bought the B J's Warehouse brand of diapers (Berkley and Jensen I think is what they're called) and I hate them. They're fine for pee, but not for poop. They have a weird fit to them, too. I mean, they'll do in a rush, but I would never buy them again purposely.

Luvs are simply too thin.

Plain Huggies are OK, but not for a newborn. They're better for when the baby is older and not as sensitive.

Pampers are great for newborns, then I switched to Huggies Supreme "Gentle Care" until the size limit just becomes plain old "Huggies Supremes".
These diapers are extremely soft (the little elastic band at the leg included!) unlike some other diapers. Plus, they are very absorbent. I just bought some Huggies that are specially made for night time and realize they are pretty much the same as Huggies Supremes on any given night. Go figure...

BU, of course, this is just my opinion, and every baby is different. Some are allergic to certain brands, and some have a shape that may cause certain diapers to leak on a regular basis.

My sister used Huggies Supremes with both her children, and it looks like I'll be using them for both of mine as well. Just sign up on their website so you can receive coupons, b/c they're kind of expensive. Target usually has a pretty good price on them, though.

My favorite are Pampers. Pampers swaddlers and then the cruisers. I used them with my daughter and now I'm using them with my son! Diapers.com has some great deals and I always find coupons in the ads I get at home.

I didn't even think of wipes but thanks for posting that too!

Seems swaddlers are the hands down winners...I did an offline poll of people too and the swaddlers seem to come up time and time again!

Pampers - Swaddlers

I love Pampers diapers because those are the ONLY diapers my 5 week old son has not pooed or peed right through. Sometime when I have tried Huggies through the night he would wake up all wet. He peed through them. I will not used Huggies diapers ever again. Teddy's diapers was even worst.

The hospital started me off with Pampers. Pampers hospital brand with the yellow line that turns blue when the baby pees or poos OMG I loved thoughs diapers. Why don't pamper sell them in stores??? :( too bad.

I know you're not asking but Huggies wipes are the best they are thicker than Pampers wipe which I really like.

i personally always liked pampers. ive tried huggies and my son leaked right through them. the cruisers are expensive unless on special and you dont get as much as the baby dry. i buy the boxes. on special usually ranging depending on the size that is.. about 130-170 or so.. i use 10 a day on average and on special here the box is 26.99 full price 36.99 but they also have smaller boxes which are 23$ and on special 20$ you get like 100 diapers so it's not too bad. i stock up..my DS has about 8 packs of diapers under his bed. Look for specials and stock up...

i tried the kirkland i find as though they are just like huggies but a little cheaper. huggies tend to be cheaper than pampers, or so i've seen here...and ive tried the parents choice from walmart once and never again...they are really cheap diapers..i will stick with name brands..good luck every baby is different:)

sorry on mine it wasn't the pampers baby dry it was the swaddlers. I loved them on her as a nb but then once she was out of that stage they always just fit so small. Not a lot room for big blow outs.

my fav diapers are swaddlers and then the cruisers.. i swear by them. have never used anything that compared. cost a little more but worth every penny in my opinion. i used these for both my children and never had a problem, no complaints here. i tried luvs huggies whitecloud etc.. and i really didn't like any of them. huggies just dont fit right as ashiepooh said. if i were u i'd try out different diapers till u find the kind that are right for your baby. i suppose everyone is different.  try swaddlers i think u will be beyond satisfied, i sure am!!

All brands work best for different kids.  When I had my daughter 15 yrs ago luvs worked best with my son who is now 14 months he could not use anything except huggies or he'd break out.  Up until he was 11 months i used huggies then switched to a cheaper store brand which worked fine.  Sometimes babies need the best because their body/skin cant take a generic until they are much older. Example- u wouldnt put purfume on a baby but u will put perfume on her when shes older.  Just my experience hope it helps

I can't believe you remembered I had that post! LOL!

Well we use White Cloud from Walmart. They're okay. My favorites are Huggies but they're TOO expensive.

I HATE Luvs and Parent's Choice. Luvs leaves a nasty gel all over my kids (even if not in diaper long) and they smell like chemicals. Parent's Choice are paper thin. Might as well not have a diap on at all!

I prefer the Luvs brand.  they are not as bulky as some other diapers.  The huggies leak more to me.  Pampers swaddlers were great for new borns

I use Huggies and LOVE them. I used to use Pampers baby dry when Aspen first came home but they just seemed too small and they have some substance in there that irritates sensitive skin. Infact I pretty much tried every brand of diapers on her to see which one would be good for her sensitive skin and the best by far was Huggies Supreme since they have no deodorants in them. She had the worst diaper rash I had ever seen before I switched but now she's worn them ever since and hasn't had another. She also is a wiggler and they stay on just fine.

Okay...

Huggies ~ don't fit the babies right in my opinion, they leave too much room on the sides where their hips are, and leak

Pampers ~ They are alright for a baby who isn't moving.  I would say up to 6 months.

Luvs ~ I didn't like, just like huggies

And to me the kirkland brand is the best!  Don't leak, have better weight limits, and dont break as easy as the others and just all around better

Pampers is by far my favorite.  The Pampers Baby Dry ones are fine, the Cruisers and Swaddlers are too expensive.  Everytime I have tried a bargain brand to save money I have been sorry.

Okay, if you have a costco around, I say go there.  I buy theirs due to you get more diapers for the price, unlike at grocery stores!  Same with wipes too!

That's Kirkland brand.  You could go online and buy them too!  :)  Every other diaper I ever used, leaked with my kids.  So I use their pull ups and diapers and wipes!
