Yes, when my water broke, I was already in the hospital having early labor..contractions were mild at first for an hour, and then they got worse. In 3 hours,  they were pretty bad but I tried to sleep for 30 min. I woke up because I heard a popping sound in my HEAD, and immediately, my water was pouring on the bed. It was yacki and I wanted to stop but it took a while before it was done. I knew it was water because of the popping sound and the water coming down my legs. Right after I started to have THE WORST contractions EVER!!!
Anyway, that was my first baby. I hope to go faster with my second :)

So what was the popping noise all about? Just your knee cracking or something? I've never heard of a popping sound when your water breaks. Anyone have experience with that? Is that common?

just got back from the hospital. they tested the fluid and said it wasnt amniotic fluid. they said i just went into false labor and they wanna keep an eye on me to see if the leaking and contractions continue.

ya you need to get checked now... better safe than sorry.... and ya you would still feel movement and contractions dont always start when the water breaks

it is a simple test with a swab to ceck for amniotic fluid

By 28 weeks she should be moving at least four times an hour.  I would go get checked out just to be sure.  Just because your water broke doesn't mean you should have contractions.  Also If your water did break you should be monitored closely due to infection risks even if you aren't in labor.
