the only thing you can try to do is get off your feet as much as possible....bedrest

i was 3cm and 50% effaced with twins for 2 weeks....bedrest def helped keep them in a few extra weeks but they were still born at 34 weeks and are still in the nicu but it was better than being born at 32 weeks

You could be at that stage for weeks. It is really best for your baby to stay put until at least 39 weeks. Even though babies are considered term at 37 weeks, some born before 39 weeks may have breathing problems if born before 39 weeks. Most OBs will not induce labor or do a repeat c-section until 39 weeks because of that, unless there is a medical reason to take the baby before 39 weeks.

Believe me, I am just 38 weeks and really really uncomforable and feel like the size of small bus. I would love to be able to put my socks on without much effort and to have my back pain go way...not to mention to finally see my little one. This is my second baby and last, so I am trying to cherish the time I have with my daughter and hubby as a family of 3 until we gladly welcome our boy into our family.

You may not be able to do anything. I was 3 cm n 90% effaced at 37 weeks. I tried everything in the book including getting my membrane stripped at 38 weeks. My daughter was born at 39 weeks 6 days.
It will be a long couple weeks but do somethings  for yourself while you still can

Are you worried you'll have the baby early? With my first I was 4cm and 75% effaced at 38 weeks and still didn't have her until 1 day before my due date. If you want to have the baby sooner I would wait until you are at minimum 37 weeks. Things that can bring on labor ONLY IF your body and the baby are ready are walking a lot...sex, your Dr. or midwife can strip your membranes, but they won't do this until you are farther along. Don't rush it your baby will come when your body and the baby are ready. Good Luck.
