discovery....

So I went to go to the bathroom before laying down to go to bed and I ran my hand along the bottom of my stomach and I noticed a huge bulge. So I grabbed my mirror to look at it and called my hubby... We both think it looks like a hernia, so I'm going to call my OB when his office opens in the morning...

How will my labour process change if it is a hernia?? I'm so worried right now

So I talked to my OB and he said if there is no pain then it can wait until my appointment on Monday which at this point it isn't painful so we'll find out Monday :)

He did say if it becomes painful to go to the hospital though so good call ladies! :D

I actually think umbilical hernias are not completely unheard of and they're generally not harmful to you or your baby; just some discomfort and pain for you. The only solution to hernias is usually surgery so they tend to start away from that in pregnancy. Double check with your doctor though:)

I've heard that if a pregnant woman has a hernia it's most likely an umbilical hernia. Exactly what it sounds like, umbilical cord poking out! That sounds like want you're describing to me..
Best of luck to you mama!

My hubby had one and it didn't hurt til the doctor stuck his hand in it so it could be. I don't know if it will effect the birthing progress but you should definatly get checked out. Please keep us updated!

All day I've had a dull ache and pain in that spot and since I touched it its been worse. I'm laying down now and I'm not moving unless I have to pee until I can call my OB in the morning.

I'm 39+4 but this spot is about as long as my index finger and probably just a little bit more wide... It didn't hurt until I touched it now there's a throbbing pain... Baby's head has been engaged for 2 weeks the OB said...
