i never had one with my first baby. i was induced and then went into labour 4 days later. i just made sure that i went to the bathroom BEFORE i delivered.
They're not common. If it seriously bothers you, put it in your birth plan and make sure they know before you deliver that you do not want an enema. Again, like I said... they are becoming increasingly unpopular.
I think it depends on your doctor or where you deliver as well. I was induced and never had one.
Sorry, I was induced and almost everyone I know was as well and They did not have a enema. I think it's "old school" & maybe it depend on your dr.
u only get an enema if u are being induced for the simple fact u dont mess up urself when pushing it cleans u out they push a tube up ur butt and squeeze this bottle of liquid it's kind of comfortable u then go sit on the toilet and it comes back out and wateva is in there u feel like u have diarrhea it just comes runnin out hope this help
I have had 2 kids - one is 4 and one is 11 mos - I didn't have an enema with either and didn't have an accident either.
Ennema's used to be common, but not anymore.... Just make sure you have a BM before you leave the hospital... They give you laxatives and stool softner's during your stay so that it won't hurt as much....... But no, they don't give ennema's... Because if they did, you'd have the poops, while you were pushing.....
They used to always give an enema when a woman went into labor, but I don't think it's as common anymore......Honestly, if my pregnancy makes it till the end this time, I'll totally give myself one when I think it's time...Better than pooping all over the place! YIKES! Although at that point you probably won't care! Also, if they tell you that they are going to give you one, by chance, you have the right to refuse it......just remember that.....And chances are they would have you do it youself and 'get rid' of everything in the bathroom just like normal.
If you get the enema you wont get any embarrasing moments to remember when pushing "out" the baby. Its not that bad, good luck to you!
With my daughter (1st) I didnt get one until after, you have to have a BM before they will ok you to leave, I went into labor naturally with her!.... My son (2nd) they gave me one before because I was induced. That way the only thing your going to "push" out is the baby! But than again your not going to care what all comes out when your at the pushing stage!!!!! They arent that bad really unless your in pain like I was after my daughter that was HORRIBLE!!!! Good luck!
I never heard that before, It prob. depend on your dr.....
